1. If forced to start one of these players as your flex player, who do you start in week 16: Donald Driver (vs. MIN) or Ahman Green (vs. MIN)? Donald Driver | Smitty: Driver is an excellent start this week against Minny, especially since Minnesota will likely shut down the run all game long. Driver could be in for a big 100-yard day. He should have at least one score. Donald Driver | Goldy: Minny is #1 in the NFL against the rush coming into this game. That’s about all you need to know when making this decision. These players are somewhat equal fantasy wise, but knowing that the Packers will be forced to the air early and often means that Driver will be getting plenty of opportunities and is the better choice for both yards and TDs. Start Driver. Donald Driver | Ballgame: Typically I’d go with the RB here, but both are on the same team and GB will likely pass more than run against Minnesota’s defense. They have a tough run, so expect the Pack to light them up via the pass. Driver should have about 90+ and a TD in this one. Donald Driver | White: Minnesota is the league’s best defense against the run, so Ahman doesn’t stand a chance against Driver. Driver should grab about 6-8 passes and earn 85+ and a touchdown.
2. If forced to start one of these players, who do you start in week 16: Marques Colston (@NYG) or Reggie Wayne (@HOU)? Reggie Wayne | Smitty: Manning is playing great and I see him feeding Wayne and Harrison all day long. Wayne should benefit from Harrison’s monster week last week. Houston will look to contain the veteran receiver, which should leave Wayne open often. Wayne should have a couple of TDs in week 16 and could have 85+ receiving. Reggie Wayne | Goldy: Wayne is pretty much a must start in any league and is one of the most consistent WRs in the game. With Colston still not 100% it would be difficult to give him the nod over Reggie. Both have a decent shot at a TD, but Wayne should get more yards and is the best choice, especially in what should be your title game. Reggie Wayne | Ballgame: Wayne and Colston, this one is actually really tough. As much as I like Colston this week against the Giants, Wayne has to get the start given Manning should have at least 3TDs at Houston on Sunday. Wayne should have one of those scores and at least 85 yards. Marques Colston | White: Colston will bounce-back this week with 90+ and a TD against the Giants. Brees is on fire and I think Indy might run the ball a lot after building a quick lead against Houston.
3. If forced to start one of these players, who do you start in week 16: Maurice Jones-Drew (vs. NE) or Thomas Jones (@DET)? Maurice Jones-Drew | Smitty: Drew is a beast. Start him as a RB2 in larger leagues unless you have an insane group of rushers. Drew should have 100+ and 1-2TDs against NE in week 16. Maurice Jones-Drew | Goldy: The guy has scored in something like 6 straight games, and always has nice combo yards. T. Jones has been giving more and more time up to Benson, and I think that will continue this week with something like a 60/40 split. With the streak that Jones-Drew is on he seems to be the best start. Maurice Jones-Drew | Ballgame: This one is easy. Jamal won’t do much against the Steelers D and Jones is on fire. Jones should have no prob getting 100 and at least one score against the Pats. Maurice Jones-Drew | White: Thomas Jones would be considered here if Benson wasn’t getting touches and Jones was proven fully healthy. Jones-Drew should have a big day, something like 100 and a touch.
4. If forced to start one of these players, who do you start in week 16: Marion Barber III (vs. PHI) or Jamal Lewis (@PIT)? Marion Barber III | Smitty: I love Barber and his future in this league. If only Parcells would feed him the rock 20+ times a game, but even though he won’t, Barber is an solid start in week 16. Marion Barber III | Goldy: First off, Barber is leading the NFC in TDs and has been on a roll recently. Secondly, Jamal plays a tough Pitt run D on the road. Barber has been scoring more and has the better matchup, thus he is the guy to go with here. Add in that he goes on Monday night and he is the guy to start at RB. Marion Barber III | Ballgame: Barber is a stud in the making. Grab this guy in keeper and dynasty leagues, He looks more and more like the real deal every time I see him touch the football. A two-touchdown game wouldn’t surprise me this week at home against Philly on Monday Night. Marion Barber III | White: Barber is a stud and should continue to steal carries from Jones. Even though the team won’t announce that Barber is their starter, when the game is over, the stats will speak for themselves. Barber could score and rush for 90-100 yards in week 16 against PHI.
5. If forced to start one of these players, who do you start in week 16: Matt Leinart (@SF) or Tom Brady (@JAX)? Matt Leinart | Smitty: Brady will struggle against the Jags D, so go Leinart here. I think Leinart will be over 250 yards passing and will have 2-3TDs. Matt Leinart | Goldy: Back in week 1 Warner torched the 49ers secondary for 300+ yards and 2-3 TDs. Basically the 49ers have a tough time stopping the Fitz/Boldin combo. Brady will find things much tougher against the Jags, who need to get a win to stay in the wildcard picture. Go with Leinart, even after the Brady Pro Bowl snub. Matt Leinart | Ballgame: Leinart should have a big day, something like 300 and 2-3 scores. I see Fitz and Boldin both reaching the 100-yard mark in this match-up against SF. Matt Leinart | White: Jacksonville is tough and Leinart faces SF. Easy call. Leinart. He could have 300+ and 2 scores.
