We have put together a Fantasy Football Staff Poll and we have invited seven of our diehard forum users (aka Xtremers) to compete against us. The basics:

Scoring & Weight

The scoring details are below, but it is basic scoring with bonuses, no PPR. For a Fantasy Poll to make sense, there has to be a “weight” for each selection… here is how that works. The weight equals the total number of players that the participant was asked to rank at that respective position, minus the playerâ€™s rank that the participant gave them, plus one. For example: If someone ranks Peyton Manning as the No. 1 QB, the weight of that selection will be 10 (Breakdown: 10QBs minus 1 (Rank) + 1 = 10)… now you multiply that times the fantasy total from the scoring system in place (scoring details at end of article). So if Peyton Manning racks up 400 fantasy points this season (under the scoring system below), anyone who ranked Manning No. 1 on their rankings (weight = 10) will earn 4,000 points from the Colts QB. Accuracy is everything here, and the challenge is doing all of this in mid-July. It will be interesting to see how things change between now and the start of the 2007 season… either way, these rankings are locked in. Here we go and good luck to the seven Xtremers! We will certainly have results posted at the end of the 2007 fantasy season.

Scoring

Passing 0.5pts per every 10 passing, TDs are 6pts, INTs are -1; Bonuses: 5pts at 300 yards passing and 5pts per 100 after); Example: If Manning throws for 400 yards, 3TDs and 1INT, he scores 47 fantasy points Rushing 0.5pts per every 5 rushing, TDs are 6pts; Bonuses: 5pts per 100 rushing; Example: If LT rushes for 200 yards, has 40 receiving and 2TDs, he scores 46 points Receiving 0.5pts per every 5 receiving, TDs are 6pts; Bonuses: 5pts per 85 receiving; Example: If Harrison racks up 170 yards receiving and has 2TDs, 39 fantasy points Misc. Scoring / Info: - NO PPR, NO minus points for fumbles; All players can rack-up stats in all categories, meaning, RBs can get receving bonuses, QBs like Young can get rushing bonuses, etc….All 2pt converisions are 2pts…. If a player scores on special teams, let’s say Reggie Bush returns a kick, you get the 6pts for that TD, but Troy Brown won’t get the TD for an INT return… just kickoffs and punt returns for TDs….
