Breaking News: RB Frank Gore Breaks Hand Monday

According to PressDemocrat.com, RB Frank Gore suffered a broken right hand during Monday’s practice. The injury is expected to keep the back out for at least four weeks, and he won’t see much preseason play, if any, in 2007.

The hand is expected to be healed by week one, but Gore, already thought of as injury-prone, is starting to look like a huge risk heading into the 2007 season. When runners sit out a large part of the preseason, whether it be due to injury or a holdout, they can often run into injury problems down the line. If losing offensive coordinator Norv Turner wasn’t enough, this news knocks Gore all the way down to #12 in our 2007 Redraft Player Rankings.

Again, Gore’s hand should be healed by week one, but this could be the start of an injury-filled season for the San Francisco rusher. Gore owners: be sure you own Michael Robinson and whoever lands that RB3 role in S.F. (out of Hicks/Clayton).
