Hey Xtremers:

Some interesting things went down today, relating to cuts and Injury List moves. Some more interesting cuts and announcements are sure to follow behind this post, but you can bet that we will continue to update you as they happen. Here is what you need to know for the moment:

RB Antonio Pittman cut by Saints

This is one of the more interesting cuts today, as the rookie has some serious talent and upside. It looks like the Saints organization is comfortable with Aaron Stecker backing up their stud running backs Reggie Bush and Deuce McAllister. It will be interesting to see what teams give Antonio Pittman a serious look. Our guess is that you’ll see the Packers, Falcons and Raiders be leading candidates to at least give the kid a look. Monitor the news and maybe grab him if he does in fact sign in a place that gives him a chance to compete for carries.

RB Priest Holmes placed on Non-Football Injury List

This means that Holmes is done for the year — and he can’t play for another team either. So fantasy-wise, this means that Michael Bennett and Kolby Smith are the only runners to consider handcuffing to stud back Larry Johnson. Our guess is that Bennett starts off as the primary back-up, but if anything were to (ear muffs Johnson owners!) happen to L.J., it would be Kolby Smith that the team would turn to, not Bennett. Bennett wouldn’t hold up as a full-time rusher if you ask us. So, if you have to pick just one K.C. back to handcuff to L.J. (due to roster limit reasons), we’d roll with Smith.

RB Kenton Keith becomes the primary back-up in Indy with DeDe Dorsey cut

This one was about as shocking as the cutting of Antonio Pittman. Addai owners: Keith is now the primary back-up to Joseph Addai, so go grab him and handcuff him to your first-round runner! Again, we will update you as more info comes rolling in! Have a great Saturday!
