Look, there is some risk going with a guy that technically isn’t even starting yet, but I just feel like A.P. is going to breakout right out of the gate. He faces a pretty decent Atlanta D, but his big-play ability makes him the more attractive start in my opinion. Until Benson proves his toughness, I’m going to stay skeptical of the Bears rusher for the moment. Start Adrian Peterson.

Both running backs face top ten defenses against the run according to last year’s stats, but I think both will do well in week one. If I have to pick one, I take Benson hands down. Peterson has real upside, but I can’t put Benson on the bench just yet for a rookie RB that isn’t even starting yet. Go with the starter, especially when he runs for a team like the Bears. That defense is going to set-up the run nicely every single week. Start Cedric Benson.

Tough call. I really like both starts this week, but Boldin has looked great this pre-season and I have a funny feeling that the 49ers will be up on the Cards early on. This means that Leinart could be throwing quite a bit in week one, which also means that Boldin is going to get his targets. Start Anquan Boldin.

Both receivers are very good starts in week one, but AZ could be trying to pass their way back into this game and I think Boldin will have a very big day. Start Anquan Boldin.

I’d throw Furrey out right away. It isn’t that he isn’t a decent WR3/4, but your other options are just better starts. So it’s between Curtis and Cotchery. While Curtis has real upside this year and is capable of being an every-week fantasy starter, I think you have to wait a week or two before you put a guy like Cotchery on the bench in favor of him. Cotchery is the real deal and reminds me a lot of Hines Ward. He just makes big plays and is always a TD threat on Sundays. Start Jerricho Cotchery.

This one really is a real toss up. Both are #2 WRs for their teams, but Cotchery has Pennington and Curtis has McNabb, so I go Curtis. Start Kevin Curtis.

Kitna faces a tough Oakland defense (#1 against the pass last year), but I can’t advise anyone to bench the Lions’ quarterback in favor of Cutler just yet. Don’t get me wrong, I am extremely high on Cutler heading into ‘07, but I think fantasy owners better give him a few weeks to prove his top 6-8 potential before they start making match-up based decisions against Jon Kitna. Start Jon Kitna.

I know the typical pick here would be Kitna, but Cutler is my super sleeper QB this year and I like him over Kitna in week one. I think Cutler is going to toss for 2-3 scores on Sunday against Buffalo, while Kitna struggles against that surprisingly tough Oakland Raiders defense. I can’t say I’d bench Kitna for Cutler on a regular basis, but with the match-ups in week one, I just like the high risk / high reward pick here in Cutler. Start Jay Cutler.

Look, Vince Young is going to explode this year and if you have a bigger name sitting in front of him on your roster, it is going to be painful on Sundays watching this guy score like a top 5QB. I like Kitna this year, but if forced to start one of these guys all year long, I start Young every week. Start Vince Young.

You know, I have my doubts about Young given he has very little help at WR, but he didn’t have much of a receiving crew last year and still looked great. It may be risky early on, but I think eventually most will move Young ahead of Kitna as he proves himself. Start Vince Young.

Tough call, as both play just decent defenses against the pass in week one. I wouldn’t be shocked if Roethy tossed a couple TD passes in week one against the Browns, but I think Hasselbeck has the higher ceiling. Rothlisberger could earn more of my fantasy respect as the season moves along, but for now I can’t bench Hassel for the Steelers signal caller. Start Matt Hasselbeck.

I see Branch and Hasselbeck having some major success against the Bucs in week one. I think the Steelers will get up early and run the football a ton, which will minimize Roethlisberger’s attempts. Start Matt Hasselbeck.

I love the Vikings defense this year - I think that the unit will do very well in ‘07 in the turnover department. Still, there are two defenses that you never bench…. the Ravens and the Bears. Defenses typically change from year to year, but Baltimore and Chicago are clearly going to remain absolutely dominating in 2007. Even against San Diego, Chicago is a threat to score fantasy points all over the field. Start Chicago.
