While week one had its share of fantasy studs, it seemed to be a week of many letdowns. Drew Brees and the Saints offense didn’t show up for week one and Donovan McNabb didn’t have quite the come-back game most fantasy owners were hoping for. Who will bounce-back in week 2?
Bounce-Back Quarterbacks
Drew Brees
Brees let down a ton of fantasy owners last week, tossing for just 192 yards and throwing 2 INTs. That is NOT going to happen against the Tampa Bay Bucs in week 2. The stud QB could easily pass for 300+ yards and rack-up 2-3 scores. In my opinion,
Brees is the best week 2 start at the quarterback position after
Peyton Manning.
Donovan McNabb
McNabb had just 184 yards passing and one touchdown in week one against the Pack. He also threw a pick. Don’t count on
McNabb having another disappointing game in week 2, as he faces the Redskins on Monday Night Football. I see the Eagles QB having at least 300 yards passing and at least two total touchdowns.
McNabb to
Brown for a deep score sounds about right as well.
Vince Young
Young didn’t exactly play bad in week 1, as he went 11-for-18, but because the rushing attack worked so well,
Young didn’t need to pass much. Well, that won’t be the case in week 2 as the Titans play host to the Colts. It is almost a certainty that the Titans won’t be up big in this one, so you will see a lot more
Vince Young in week 2 than you did in week 1. This should be a shootout and the Titans will likely be fighting their way back into this game in all four quarters of action. This should equal a lot of passing for TEN!
Young should toss for at least 220 yards or so and I think this may be one of those games where he throws for 1-2 scores and runs in another. When all is said in done, he could very easily have 250+ total yards and 3TDs.
Vince Young is a great start in week 2.
Bounce-Back Running Backs
Deuce McAllister
Deuce will rack-up a ton of yards in week 2 against the Bucs. It seems inevitable that the Saints will get up big in this game, and once they do, they should grind it out with their
Deuce/
Bush combo. I am predicting big TD numbers from Brees this week, so I’m going to say that Deuce may go without a score. That doesn’t mean he wont reach 130+ rushing on the ground!
Larry Johnson
Some will tell you to bench this guy against Chicago’s D, but he is the type of running back that can score from anywhere on the field. With the Bears defense a bit banged up, there may be more running room on Sunday than most expect.
L.J. could be held to under 100 yards on the ground, but he very easily pick-up 100+ total yards and have a shot for 1-2 TDs. Don’t bench your first-round studs, especially when their names are
Tomlinson,
Jackson,
L.J. or
Gore. If you want to play match-ups with a late first-rounder like
McGahee, fine, but you might as well not set your line-up at all if you’re benching
L.J. in a 10 or 12-man league.
Bounce-Back WRs
Marques Colston
I know, I know… more Saints? Hey, that offense is going to explode this week, which means a lot of fantasy players are going to have big days for the Saints. I believe
Colston is going to have one of those 8-10 reception games for 90+ and a score.
Colston is a fine WR1 and and outstanding WR2 looking foward.
Lee Evans
Evans should have had a long touchdown catch last week against the Broncos, but he was overthrown big-time. He is a TD-threat with every catch that he makes and the receiver should lead the league in yards-per-catch when the season comes to a close. Start
Evans this week in all leagues! The Bills will be down early and passing in the direction of Evans with every chance that they get. Because he is always a long-catch threat, it is never advised to bench the guy!
Bounce-Back Tight Ends
Vernon Davis
The 49ers looked awful in week 1, but at least
Alex Smith organized a winning drive. That should carry-over into week 2 as the 49ers are on the road against the Rams. I am kind of worried about the Rams this year and I think they are in for a rough season. Get ready for the 49ers to upset the Rams in week 2 and expect big days from both
Gore and
Davis. Both should score and both should have some big yardage totals!
