Below are players that are On The Rise and On The Decline in the world of fantasy football. Note that the Monday Night game is still to come, but the players listed below have already played their week 7 games — It’s never too early to dig into the upcoming week, so let’s get right into the player values for week 8 looking forward.

fantasy-football-players-on-the-rise Tom Brady / Randy Moss / Wes Welker | NE

Brady, Moss and Welker just keep rising in fantasy value - don’t expect that to change. Brady is playing fantastic football right now and he may just put together the best fantasy football season we will ever see. If you want Brady or Moss, good luck, because I’m not sure anyone would give up either one… for anything! Welker is starting to look like a consistent 80 and a touch every game… he should be treated the same as a top 15WR looking forward.

fantasy-football-players-on-the-rise LenDale White | RB TEN

White had a very solid fantasy game against Houston this week, rushing the football for 104 yards and a touchdown. The problem is, it took White 27 carries to hit 100 yards (3.8 yards-per-carry average). I recommend trading White now while his value is high. I’d package him and another player for one better RB. If it takes White 25-30 carries to hit 100 yards, I find it hard to believe that he will hit that mark multiple times this year. Not sure what to give up? fantasy-football-players-on-the-rise Clinton Portis | RB WAS

Portis had a solid fantasy game in week 7, rushing the football 18 times for 43 and 2TDs. I won’t like, I was very high on Portis this off-season, and it worked out up to this point… that said, this is that point in the fantasy season where one needs to observe, adjust and act. Trading Portis while he’s hot is advised. His two touchdown performance should surely allow you to package him and another player for one more secure running back. Not sure what to give up? Post your offers/thoughts on our Fantasy Football Forums.

fantasy-football-players-on-the-decline LaMont Jordan | RB OAK

LaMont Jordan was on our "On The Decline" list last week, and we told you to go after him because his value was low. Well, his poor performance this week has most likely lowered his value to the point where he is almost no risk and all reward. Attack him via trade right now, but just be sure you only accept him at a bargain price. If you catch a fantasy owner sleeping and down on the runner, you could very well have a top 10-15RB if his back injury improves (along with the Raiders offense). Not sure what to give up? Post your offers/thoughts on our Fantasy Football Forums.

Hold On To:

  • Franke Gore - We told you guys to hang onto this guy last week and we will say the same thing this week. Gore is a top 5RB if you ask me and if he isn’t being treated as such in your league, and you don’t own him, go after him! Trading for Gore now while his value is just decent is the kind of move that wins a league. Not sure what to give up? Post your offers/thoughts on our Fantasy Football Forums.

Top Waiver Wire Grabs Entering Week 8

  1. RB Jesse Chatman - I highly doubt that he is available in any decent size leagues, but if he is, grab him! Ronnie Brown injured his leg (possibly ACL) in Week 7, but he did walk to the locker room under his own power. That doesn’t mean the injury isn’t serious, so grab Chatman now if for some reason he is available in your league. If you own Ronnie, consider making a move for Chatman now before it’s too late. Make sure you don’t give up too much, as Brown could be alright, but attack him via trade if the price is right!
  2. RBs Cecil Sapp & Andre Hall - Selvin Young is clearly the #1 guy to own past Travis Henry on that Broncos roster, but something tells me that Shanny is going to continue to shock everyone with his start/bench decisions. If you have a spot to burn, we recommend that Henry owners, as well as non-Henry owners, grab both Cecil Sapp and Andre Hall. Obviously if you’re in a smaller league, this isn’t advised, but I have plenty of leagues where I’m holding a back-up QB, WR or TE I’m not using — It’s worth the grab(s) if you can afford the roster spot(s)!
  3. WR Kevin Walter - Walter was most likely picked up last week in your larger leagues, but if not, grab him! He has had back-to-back monster weeks, racking up 18 receptions for 257 yards and 1TD. Even if Andre Johnson returns this week, Walter is sure to have continued success.
Have a great Monday night!
