Below are players that are On The Rise and On The Decline in the world of fantasy football. Note that the Monday Night game is still to come, but the players listed below have already played their week 12 games — It’s never too early to dig into the upcoming week, so let’s get right into the player values for week 13 looking forward.
Frank Gore | RB SF Ok, so he didn’t bounce-back last week like we said he would, but he sure exploded in Week 12. Gore rushed the football 21 times for 116 yards and 2TDs on Sunday against the Cardinals. He also caught 11 passes for 98 yards - Gore was an absolute beast! Gore should be considered a top 5 overall talent looking forward.
Kolby Smith | RB KC Kolby Smith had an outstanding game in his first NFL start, as he rushed the ball 31 times for 150 yards and 2TDs against the Raiders in Week 12. Can Smith continue to play like a stud through Week 16? It’s possible, but keep in mind that the Raiders ranked 31st against the run entering Week 12 (surrendering 152.6 yards-per-game). I’m not saying Smith isn’t talented, and I certainly am not saying to sell him for cheap, but if you can use this Oakland match-up to sell him like a stud, do it! Not sure what to give up or ask for? Clinton Portis | RB WAS Portis was on our "sell list" last week and he tops the list once again this week. Portis has been very serviceable this year and he has earned his pay check on several Sundays, but he just doesn’t look real explosive this year and that offense is up and down, which will make Portis very inconsistent down the stretch. His 20 carries for 68 yards and no scores this week against the Bucs is proof of his inconsistent fantasy play — Trade Portis now if you can get a safer-type talent or more. Andre Johnson | WR HOU AJ is a great player to trade for, as he is coming off a 37-yard outing with no scores and thoughts of injury are still fresh in fantasy owners’ minds. Andre Johnson is easily capable of top 10-12WR numbers down the stretch, so test those trade waters and see if you can get the receiver into your fantasy uniform. Not sure what to give up or offer?
