To the left you will find the first-round draft order to our 2009 Expert Fantasy Football Rookie Mock Draft. This league is a pure dynasty league and it has in it some of the best fantasy football sites on the Web.

As you can see, Fantasy Football Xtreme picks at 1.02, so follow this draft live and as it happens. The draft will be roughly four rounds long, although not every Site will wish to proceed past rounds two or three, as each team is required to make a cut if they wish to add a rookie or veteran.

Line-Up Requirements: 1QB, 2RBs, 3WRs, 1TE, 1K, 1DST

Scoring: Non-PPR, standard scoring, but with QBs getting 6 points per TD pass

Be sure to follow this draft live and also follow its official thread on our fantasy football forums. We will be talking about the selections made all week long! We say all week long because the timer is roughly 10 or so hours, but we expect each Site to only use up about 3 hours per selection.

Looking for more Expert Fantasy Football Rookie Draft Content? Well, we have a second draft going on today as well. From what I’ve gathered, the 1.01 pick will be Knowshon Moreno, which leaves us with Beanie Wells. I have Wells and Moreno inside my top 10 overall for 2010, so clearly I like both of these guys a lot.

That said, here is the background on our squad… we have Joseph Addai, so we’re trying to get another pick inside that top six overall in order to land Donald Brown.

Our Line-Up: Tony Romo, Frank Gore, Joseph Addai, Braylon Edwards, Santonio Holmes, Lee Evans and Zach Miller.

We start 2RBs and 3WRs, so Wells will be on our bench to start the season, but he will be a beast down the stretch if you ask me and I think he will be huge in 2010.

We do have an offer out there where we’re offering up Joseph Addai for Brian Westbrook. I still think Westy has a solid year left, at least. I’m going to try and capitalize on that. This doesn’t mean I don’t believe in Addai anymore, as Donald Brown still has a lot to prove, but I think now is a good time to attack Westy and I think with Westy I can compete this season and then head into 2010 with a team built around Gore and Wells at RB.

    Thoughts? Comments? Suggestions? Predictions?

Have at it! That’s the background for this league we compete in! Enjoy and be sure to drop a line both here and on the forum topic.

Have any thoughts at who will be available at 2.07? If you’re really lucky guys like Iglesias(CHI) or Williams(DET). What about Massaquoi(CLE)or Collie(IND)?

  3. Smitty April 28th, 2009 2:09 am

I’m thinking an Andre Brown or a Mike Goodson. I may go WR, just depends on who is available, but trading up is certainly on my mind :)

If you’re looking for boom or bust you’ve got to have your sights set on Percy Harvin in the Metrodome. My bet is that he will be the second coming of Reggie Bush with HUGE games and long amounts of time spent not playing. The only difference will be that Bush will be hurt and Harvin will be suspended–fun!

I would stay away from Mike Goodson, lest that backfield turn into Baltimore south.

Also, I would keep an eye on Jeremiah Johnson down in Houston. If for some reason Slaton goes down then he would be basically plug-and-play with very Slaton-esque production IMO.

Good stuff, ThomasMagnumPI. I don’t know if Harvin will slip to me in the second, but yes I’d strongly consider grabbing him if he is there.

I like Johnson a bit too.

So who is the next best back left after McCoy and Greene? Predictions?

  7. ThomasMagnumPI April 29th, 2009 11:27 am

IMO there is a pretty substantial dropoff after Green, with McCoy possibly forming the second tier of rookie RBs all by his lonesome. However, I have to put Coffee as the next guy off the board based on who drafted him, the 49ers. They didn’t have a quality backup behind Gore and they must have seen something in the guy to take him in the 3rd Round. So, it looks like next round could very well be handcuff time, especially if there aren’t any WRs out there that we like.

What about Jennings? Where do you rank Jennings?

Keep an eye on the Bengals rookie running back selection, Bernard Scott. He played for four colleges with reportedly five arrests, but he did rack up 5,712 rush/rec yards and 73TDs in 2 years. Video Footage of Scott

  9. ThomasMagnumPI April 30th, 2009 12:59 pm

Well at least Scott fits the Bengals’ team philosophy . . . Hopefully he can keep his nose clean and create some fantasy RB production in Cincy.

Jennings is quite interesting really. With all the talk in Jacksonville about MoJoD being their feature back of the future I have to discount Jennings’ immediate value. At the same time however, he seems to be the perfect compliment to the little guy. Once again though, MoJo has traditionally been their short yardage back and unless Jennings can carve out a significant share of that role, I don’t see him getting the caries that he will need to show good production. That all being said, MoJo has always been attached at the hip with Fred Taylor and it wouldn’t surprise me in the least if the powers that be decide that he will be much more productive if he continues to split time, thus giving Jennings action on the early downs and perhaps as a MBIII closer.

The more that I think about it, I would put Jennings ahead of Coffee but it’s close.

  10. Scorpion May 3rd, 2009 12:20 am

I would rank Jennings above Goodson or Coffee, I already did in fact. I think they will have similar roles, however, mainly used in special situations and in time-share. I think they have very good potential because of MJD’s workload, and Gore’s weak knees. J/M/O.
