John Harbaugh’s handpicked 2nd year quarterback out of Nevada has made a push for the starting job in San Francisco, with impressive wins over the Bears and Sanints. With a completion percentage of 66.6% , 511 total yards, and accounting for 4 touchdowns in the last two games, Kaepernick’s fantasy value is skyrocketing. What’s impressed me the most about young Kaepernick is his poise in the pocket. For a 2nd year quarterback being thrust into a starting role, he’s done remarkable. Now I know the 49ers are a run first offense, but for him to remain so level headed, only turning over the ball once bodes well for his chances of starting this weekend. If Kaepernick starts he’s an excellent fantasy play, with his ability to create with his legs, and a very deep receiving core, not to mention his big fuzzy security blanket in Vernon Davis. Kaepernick is still available in many fantasy leagues, and could be a very valuable piece moving forward. UPDATE: Kaepernick was named the started for week 13.
