Mikel Leshoure (RB)

What do you do this week if you own Mikel Leshoure? If you are like me and you own the Lions rusher, you most likely picked him up during the season, or drafted him extremely late, and each and every week you’re forced to decide between starting Leshoure and other players you probably drafted way ahead of him. Perfect examples for me in two leagues are Stevie Johnson vs. Leshoure in one of those leagues (flex), and Cecil Shorts/or TY Hilton vs. Leshoure in the other league (also at flex)… Believe it or not, Leshoure has scored a touchdown in each of the last three weeks… However, he is averaging just 3.8 yards-per-carry. That said, Leshoure has 7TDs on the season, and has only played in 10 games. He is the goal line back in a big-time offense, and he proved that in Week 8 when he punched in 3TDs.

In both of the Stevie Johnson and Cecil Shorts/TY Hilton scenarios above, I still start Shorts (concussion) as long as he is healthy and good to go, but Leshoure commands a look against players like TY Hilton and Stevie Johnson. I love Hilton for the now and future, but Leshoure is just a safe play in my opinion. I like him over players like Johnathan Dwyer, Michael Crabtree, Lance Moore, etc, and if I had to toss out some numbers for Leshoure this week, I’d kick out 90 yards and 1TD on the ground, as I think Green Bay will be set on containing Calvin Johnson as much as possible. This will give Leshoure some extra carries in Week 14, so he could be one of those very sneaky plays this week – Just go benching a potential stud. Have a line-up dilemma?
