Did you know Russell Wilson has more fantasy points than the likes of Eli Manning, and Jay Cutler this year? Yeah I thought so. Wilson has been on fire the past 7 weeks, with 14 touchdowns and only 2 intersections. Opposing teams know their going to get a healthy dose of bruiser Marshawn Lynch, giving the Seahawk’s offense balance , which is much needed stability for a rookie quarterback. Now Wilson in my opinion is already one of the smartest quarterbacks in the NFL, and is doing much more than just managing games. The X factor for quarterback fantasy points is really the ability to create and run. Wilson has the athletic ability to do this, and has nearly 300 yards on the year. I watched Wilson play at his high school in Richmond, Virginia, The Collegiate School and everyone knew the kid was bound for greatness. Again Wilson thrived playing quarterback at N.C State, and was named the ACC Rookie of the Year, and became the first freshman quarterback to receive first team All-ACC honors. After pursuing a career in major league baseball, Wilson decided to take his talents to the cheese state, and lead Wisconsin to the Rose bowl. He also set the single season FBS record for passing efficiency (191.8) the same year. Not too shabby. Quite simply Russell Wilson is a winner. Wherever he goes he thrives, and the with the Seahawks it will be no different. Wilson is a great competitor, and is getting hot at just the right time of the year for a run. He’e a nice backup quarterback for now, and if he can continue his new found success, maybe he can move into the first tier category.
