Andre Ellington is not a three down back but he is a big play threat with good speed, vision and quickness. He has some injury concerns, leg and foot, and he will cough up the ball at times. However, he combines patience and acceleration in the run game, allowing him to pick up big chunks of yards, with the ability to receive out of the backfield. He is a dangerous open field runner and despite his size exhibits toughness after big hits.
He may lack the size to be a lead back but his speed and ability in space make him an ideal RB3/change of pace runner for a team. He is dynamic enough that with 12-15 touches a game he can help not only his NFL team, but your fantasy team as well.
Expect him to go in the second or third rounds of the NFL draft. In ppr dynasty drafts he’ll likely be a mid to late first rounder but be patient. He’ll go a bit higher in leagues that rewards return yards. In standard scoring leagues his value is closer to an RB5. In redraft leagues he has RB4 potential.
