Zac Dysert is the all time leading passer at Miami of Ohio where he broke Ben Roethlisberger’s records for school career passing attempts, completions, and yardage . Despite his team struggling this season Dysert was able to produce.
Expect him to be a late riser as the draft approaches as teams focus on his 2011 tape (Miami had a better team) and see that this year, he carried his team on his back. He exhibits leadership; accuracy; solid mechanics; can use the shotgun or take snaps under center; read defenses; handles pressure and is mentally tough.
He has to develop consistency; speed up his release; learn to move in the pocket; read NFL defenses; get up to speed on NFL offenses; make better decisions (though the offense was on him at Miami). This guy is a gunslinger. He needs to be coached up and work on his mechanics.
Zac Dysert projects to be a mid round pick in the NFL draft at this point. By the time the draft rolls around don’t be surprised to see him be a late riser and taken a couple of rounds earlier. He can play in any offense and has the potential to be a franchise quarterback. Give him a year and a half or so.
In dynasty drafts he currently projects to be a late third or fourth round selection and has no redraft value. He remains, even after the Senior Bowl, one of my sleepers at quarterback. In some deep dynasty leagues, I’ll invest a late second rounder just on potential alone.
