Matt Scott (QB)

Matt Scott is a dual threat quarterback who ran a read-option offense in college. He exhibits a quick release; strong (not elite) arm; elusiveness; athleticism; mobility; can throw on the move; fit the ball into tight spaces; hit his receivers in stride and get you some yards on the ground. He has started only 17 games so his lack of experience is one concern as is his size.

He’ll have to learn to take snaps under center; bulk up a bit; and clean up his footwork and delivery. Scott has upside and is definitely a developmental prospect.

In the NFL Draft he looks like a fifth to seventh round selection and is draftable only in the deepest of dynasty leagues or leagues that include a taxi squad. Still he’s someone to keep an eye on as he’s a backup player who has the potential to develop into a starter down the road.
