Gavin Escobar

Gavin Escobar is going to offer some NFL team very good value in the second or third round of the NFL Draft. A semi-finalist for the John Mackey Award (best college tight end) he is athletic; agile; can change directions; good body control; uses sharp breaks to get open on routes; has good hands; and with his size is a solid red zone threat. He should be effective running seam routes and across the middle. He can also be split out, used in the slot, put in motion or play inline.

He’ll need to build up his strength; learn to block better; and there isn’t much wiggle to his game after the catch. Speed is not his game, hands and routes are.

He looks like a second or third round pick in the NFL Draft. In dynasty drafts he’ll likely go in the second round to a TE needy team or in the third round at the latest. He has some upside.
