Greg Jennings

Greg Jennings signing with the Minnesota Vikings gives Christian Ponder a clear number one receiver going into the 2013 season. Whether Jennings retains fantasy value is another thing and it all hinges on Ponder taking the next step in his maturation as an NFL quarterback.

Jennings is a legit number one receiver who will take some of the pressure off of Adrian Peterson and it’s safe to assume that Jennings will see in excess of 100 targets. It’s also fairly easy to see that teams will know to double Jennings, accept that Peterson will get his and force Ponder and company to beat you.

For this season Jennings looks to have WR3 value in dynasty and redraft leagues. He is just too talented not to produce and Ponder is more consistent than the quarterbacks that Larry Fitzgerald has had throwing him the ball. However, we’ve seen what poor quarterback play can do to a receivers value.

Both Christian Ponder and his head coach are on the hot seat. It’s time to produce or the Vikings likely move on from both next year. Greg Jennings should have a good, if not great, year but with all the questions surrounding the team and a downgrade at quarterback and surrounding talent it may be time to move Greg Jennings in dynasty leagues.
