Jordan Cameron is going to generate some buzz as a sleeper if he earns the starting tight end position for the Cleveland Browns. After two years of sitting and learning Mary Kay Cabot, who covers the Browns for the Cleveland Plain Dealer, feels that the new Browns coaching staff has identified Cameron as the starter for 2013.

The Browns are expected to feature the tight end more prominently with Rob Chudzinski taking over the head coaching reigns and Norv Turner as his offensive coordinator. Both coaches have featured tight end friendly offenses giving Cameron at least match-up value for the tight end position in fantasy, but that is where the good news ends.

A closer look at the Browns opponents for 2013 shows that Browns will play half their games against teams that ranked in the top fifteen defenses against the position in 2012. So Cameron won’t be a recommended starting fantasy option half the time in 2013 and that is before we know if he really does start!

In redraft leagues it’s suggested you leave him on the wire and go with better upside as your TE2. In dynasty leagues he has more value but that depends on if you are willing to roster him for a year. In both instances don’t reach. He is a borderline TE2/3, a basketball project that still needs to prove that he can play the position.
