Justin Hunter (WR) – Fantasy Impact

The Tennessee Titans traded up with the San Francisco 49ers to add Justin Hunter with the No.34 pick in the 2013 NFL Draft. Justin Hunter is very much a boom/bust pick but he has WR1 upside. He has a good blend of size, speed and athleticism. He provides is a big play down-field threat but he does lose concentration and drop a few balls. Hunter’s issues are correctable but you can’t teach size and speed. His potential is to be dominant if he can catch the ball consistently.

This is another investment in Jake Locker after the Titans added Kendall Wright last season. Hunter’s addition is unlikely to affect Wright’s or Kenny Britt’s fantasy value.

This selection also has a lot of potential fantasy fall out. This all but guarantee’s Nate Washington is gone. It also puts Kenny Britt on notice during a contract year for him. Fantasy owners want to be aware that the Titans have significantly improved their offensive line to block for Chris Johnson and protect Jake Locker.

In dynasty drafts Hunter is likely a low end first or high end second round pick due to his potential to take over for Kenny Britt. He is probably best left on the waiver wire in redraft leagues.
