We're going to be posting an article soon on 3rd-year breakout WRs for the 2008 season. Anyone want to get some early convo going on the subject?

Colston, Holmes and Brandon Marshall are the obvious 3… any others off the top of your heads, Xtremers? Any comments on the subject at all? Lets hear it!

Jennings is going into his third year as well . some others that i really wouldn't expect great things out of but to keep an eye on are ……
Devin Hester Chi. – given the uncertain future of Bernard Berrian in Chicago and the fact that he may be used similar to Steve Smith in Carolina .
Jeff Webb K.C. – showed flashes towards the end of the year and with only Kennison and Parker infront of him at this time he could start along with Bowe next year .

well that's just my take . cya

Yep, forget to list him.

Those four are really the only obvious top dogs:

Colston, Jennings, Marshall and Holmes

Past that, it gets rough, but we will have a few more in the coming article and brush up against the "Third Year WR Theory" and talk about the 4th year guys a bit, etc.

Keep talking about this topic, though, while we get that ready for you guys..

Another guy deep down on the list could be Ben Obomanu from Seattle. They will have some uncertainty with Branch not being ready for the start of the season and Hackett being a FA.

Obomanu had a nice playoff game against the Pack. 4 rec. 63 yards.

Oh, I guess if you include TEs as a part of this you could add Vernon Davis

For draft value, I do like Webb. He could really be a nice sleeper this year, and showed some improvement over year. Colston I think will be nothing short of amazing this year, and same with Holmes.

2 others who showed up big at points last year: Jason Avant and with new situation and coach Derek Hagan in MIA for some late round value.

I am driving the Josh Johnson bandwagon……All Aboard

Chad Jackson didn't do much in his first season with the Pats; last year he was injured most of the season and I think his only contribution was on special teams. The Pats don't really seem to need him and I don't know what his third season will be like but I do remember that he was one of the more highly touted WRs in his draft class.

Maurice Stovall was a player who I thought looked pretty good coming out of Notre Dame but his first two seasons have been nothing short of busts, especially considering he has been given every opportunity to perform.

Demetrius Williams looked all right in his rookie year in my opinion but last year struggled through injuries throughout the second half of what was mostly an unproductive season. How he does next year will probably depend a lot on the QB situation.

Solid. I like Stovall a lot… hopefully he gets a shot next year.

I really like Chad Jackson next year. I am hoping to sign him this off season in my dynasty league. I think Jackson will have a chance at some success. The way Stallworth's contract is set up he won't be back next year, and with the salary cap situation the Pats are in they are not going to be able to bring another elite reciever in. So with all their three and four reciever sets they run he should be on the field alot. 50-60 receptions with 700-800 yards and 5-6 td's not out of reach. a borderline number 3 receiver with upside.
