If you click on one of them and go to respond, the page says you are not logged in. If you attempt to log in from this page (using the correct credentials) it comes back with an error. As you can imagine, it took me a long time to figure out what was happening. After the 3rd or 4th try logging out and logging in, I took a different route and went directly into one of the main forums and viola! – I could respond to topics that way. When I went back to the recent forum topics list, they worked OK.

So, it seems you can't go directly to the recent topics list immediately after logging in without first visiting a topic from one of the main categories. Hope that made sense.

OK Smitty, thanks, but I need to clarify a bit since I just tried to reproduce it again, but it worked! LOL… anyway, this is what I did to “break” it:

1 – close the site and clear all temp internet files and cookies

2 – open the browser, go to the FFX site

3 – go to the forums and click a recent topic. Obviously, not being logged in I can't reply.

4 – click the “log in” link at the top of the page and log in.

5 – click the “Forums” link and then open a “recent” topic again – you'll see you can't reply, however if you go to a thread from within a forum it works and then everything is magically OK again.

Kind of a convoluted way to get it to break, but I knew something had happened and I was determined to figure it out. Doesn't appear to break if you simply log in first after doing steps 1 and 2 above. For some reason, the site gets messed up if you open a recent topic prior to logging in. For what it's worth…
