I currently own FWP and Mendy, and can get Westbrook in my dynasty league. Non-ppr scoring. Westbrook's numbers have dropped off a bit (yardage and ypc, not TDs), so I'm a bit concerned that this could be the beginning of the end. I was high on Mendy coming into the season, but now he's pretty much a big question mark.
Which would you rather have? I'm in the playoff picture right now, so Westbrook should help me this year, but I don't want to sacrifice my future. Also own C. Johnson and MJD (start 2 RBs).
Thanks!

I'd use Westbrook, atleast as long as I could.

Thanks, that's kind of what I'm thinking. I know Westy may only have another year or two left, but I think with MJD and C. Johnson, I have some young guys to balance it out. Just can't decide if Mendy is going to be a stud or not. 14 team league by the way.
Any other thoughts? Need to decide by kickoff tonight!

I don't see Mendy being a stud. He may eventually, but by then Parker and Westbrook will be on sportscenter.

Just realized I wasn’t too clear- the trade would be both FWP and Mendy for Westy.

Westy all the way. He's been dealing with some injuries, including broken ribs, but is getting back to full health.

I am going to go against the grain. Reality says Westbrook, but I kind of like the long term value of Mendy. Until he is the man Fast Willie will be fine.

Tough one. If you can win in 2009, and you're fairly confident in that, I go Westy and win. Winning when you can is key to fantasy football. So many chase the future so much they always get 3rd and 4th place and never win 1st.
If you're team isn't a top dog team with the addition of Westy, I prob would hold onto FWP/Mendy, because like Haimez said, the combo will be just fine.
*edit*
You know, even if you thought you couldn't win now, Westy could have more trade value and you could turn it into a Marion Barber or Marshawn Lynch, etc, so doing the trade might be the best thing no matter what… wow, that's tough.

Thanks, guys. I went ahead and made the deal. It’s a 14 team league, I’m currently tied for 1st in my division (I own the tiebreaker), so I’m right in the mix. This doesn’t necessarily make me the favorite, but it does give me a much better shot to go head to head with anyone.
Agreed about the trade value as well- I may look to shop him after the season.

I think it’s a good deal for you. As Smitty said, even if you decide to deal Westy in the off season he will have more value than FWP/Mendy.
We put so much stock in the value rookie RBs…I think sometimes taking the sure vet is the way to go. I know you will hit it big with your APs and Chris Johnson this year…but you’ll also have your Benson, Caddy, Maroney guys who don’t pan out that well.
