Who has the better year?

I am in a keeper league and I want to win this year. I am looking to pick either McFadden, Jamal Lewis, or Earnest Graham at 1.04. I have 2 good RBs already, I just want to land a solid #3 so that I can focus on other positions for most of the draft and season. I probably wont be able to keep any of them since my keepers are pretty set. Which guy do you think has the best 2008? I really liked Grahams running last year (reminded me a bit of Marion Barber, although much older), but Jamals offense seems great…then McFadden has the most raw talent of all, but will he be a feature back right from the start? Will he even be a successful pro? Will Jamarcus Russell be good enought o keep defenses honest?

I am really torn on which guy to take. Again, age isnt really an issue since (unless McFadden somehow has a Peterson like debute) I probably wont be able to keep them anyways. My goal is to win now, so who has the best 2008?

What's the scoring texasfan? ppr?

I'd rank them Lewis, McFadden, Graham and feel theyarethisclose. In a keeper league, I'd go with McFadden – just in case.

Wow… what RBs do you have that you cannot envision keeping McFadden?

My rankings are a compilation of 4 sites. Right now I have Lewis at 14, DMac at 16 and Graham at 19.

I am with Tav… DMac's upside is hard to pass up, although Jamaal ought to be money in the bank

No ppr, 20 yards for 1 point, 6 points per TD.

I ranked them the way you did at first, but I have been tossing back and forth lately.  Jamal seems like the safe bet to do well, so I am trying to lean towards him, but its so close I just cant decide. McFaddens upside is so tempting, but at the same time, its very hard to expect the Raiders to do well on offense with Jamarcus in his first season and McFadden competing with Fargas..etc. We start 2 RBs and I have 2 solid ones already, so I am torn on whether i should take trustworthy Jamal Lewis for bye week plays and incase of injuries or swing for the fences with McFadden. I also have a soft spot for Graham, but I think he has to be the odd man out.

McFadden poses the best keeper value obviously and I also think he will post better #'s in 08. No way I would pass him up.

With your "win now" attitude, I would say Jamal all day.  The Browns will be putting up 30 points a game.  But, passing on McFadden for Lewis is kinda like "taking the drunk ugly girl home from the club instead of the pretty one"…cause you know youre gonna score.  Its good for the short term, but long-term is your best bet in the end….

There aint no bones in a hotdog…..

I guess I should mention Maroney is available too, I just dont really like him personally, but Yahoo ranks him higher than any of the guys I mentioned.

I think Jamal Lewis is going to have a better year out of the ones listed.

Are you referring to Brandon Funston's "Big Board"?…. That thing has not changed for a month and a half… it's dated May 6

Better if you post your entire roster and your league’s scoring rules for us to see whether you could really win this year.

I’d be pretty surprised if your team is good enough that McFadden wouldn’t be considered a keeper, but if that’s really the case, I expect Jamal to have the best season next year. I assume you only have a couple of keepers each, since Jamal and Graham are both available?

It probably won't matter much, I doubt McFadden makes it to #4.

Since I am one of the weird people who does not have DMC ranked very high (my keeper list has both Lewis and Graham ranked above him) I would go with Lewis.  Especially if you are looking to win this year.

I have Maroney ranked a couple spots higher, but I would still go with Lewis in your case.

I don't think it's that much of a stretch to think he has 2 RBs better than McFadden, especially if it's a smaller league. I just think that overall, McFadden should definitely be considered a keeper candidate, unless you only keep 2 guys or you have restrictions that you can only keep 2 RBs (and you do actually have 2 studs).

It seems like it's either a small league or they only have a couple of keepers each (or both) since guys like Graham, Maroney and Jamal are available. They're not top 10 players or anything, but I'd think they'd be kept in most leagues of 10+ teams with 4+ keepers.

never get how YOU value players and how OTHERS value players mixed up…thats the main point of these boards…to find out just how high a players value is….just because you value them lower doesnt mean you cant use that and take advantage of other owners…how successfull or not mcfadden will be is overshadowed by the fact that most people feel "right now" he has a ton of value in dynasty leagues….for example id be willing to bet that in some cases you could turn mcfadden into jamal lewis and a pick…always CRUSH your opponent…
