I am in a large keeper league where QBs are at a mininum. Most owners wrap them up because they give you good numbers each week.
I am looking at the situation in Detroit, where it looks like Jon Kitna's days will soon be numbered. So out of the two remaining quarterbacks on that roster, who do we see that may emerge to become the future starter. Dan Orlovsky or Drew Stanton or neither? I know coach Marinelli needs to win today to keep his job, so Kitna (when healthy) will be the answer this season. But the new GM wants to see them move forward, in a new direction, and so do we think its Orlovsky or Stanton?
I personally like Stanton, i think he could emerge to be a quarterback like Trent Edwards. But i just don't know.
You guys have any thoughts or insight that may help me make my decision?
Thanks!

With nothing to go on I’d go with Stanton as well.

Also with nothing to go on, I'm thinking next year's starter isn't even one of those three guys…rookie or over-priced veteran will take over in 09. Just a hunch.
But, Kitna is clearly their best chance to even be competitive. That team has so many holes, it's almost unfair. Here's another gut feeling: Detroit is doing more than just entertaining offers for R. Williams. I vaguely remember hearing that McDonald gets more targets that Williams; his production this past Sunday was probably just a bi-product of his complaining.

I am here in the interesting place called Detroit and from what it sounds like, the coaching staff is going to do everything in their power to save their jobs by attempting to win as many games as possible this season. John Kitna gives them that (despite his below average skills).
The team has plenty of other issues besides QB (as jetfan mentioned), however there is a growing feeling here that Marinelli is about to lose his job at which time they will turn 100% into evaluating the rest of their roster in prep for the next draft. If that happens, Drew Stanton will get his shot.
(and btw, in case any of you really want to know the truth about what really goes on in Detroit…let me break it down for you. The owner is a holy roller, Matt Millen was a holy roller, Coach Rod is a holy roller, and guess what…Kitna is a holy roller. From the top down they have chosen to stick with good strong christians, over good strong football players. judgement has been lost because of this. I am guessing with Millen out of the way, many changes are coming.)

Thanks guys! Thats some really good insight!
Should be an interesting next couple of weeks in Detroit. If Coach Rod does get fired, there could be some major roster changes and adjustments.
If anyone else has heard anything, let me know.
