I find it tough trading straight up position for position.
You could try to get a Boldin type for him…I would shoot high, say Colston if you can and work down from there.
What’s the rest of the roster look like? Maybe you can do a two for 1 package to upgrade at WR.

Roy will be entering the last year of his contract in 09 which could turn out to be a very good thing for him. I think he will traded before he is ever resigned. IMO he is one of the most talented recievers in the NFL and if he goes to a team like Dallas, which is possible, his value shoots through the roof. If I own him there is no way I trade him right now because I don’t think you would ever get fair value for him. Now if you can trade him for a Colston/Fitz type I say go for it otherwise I would keep him.

yea…ffh…urratia, he could have been a higher round draft pick last season,or if he would have stayed in school another years he could of went higher
i have to cut 4 people from my roster by sept.1 so if he doesnt make a dent in the wr group then he could be sept.cut

No way I think this happens. They will try to get something in trade for him rather than just let him go. The only way I see this happening is if they REALLY think they are in a position to win it all and I think that those chance are looking pretty slim right now. JMO

I would try that…a WR close to Roy’s value…maybe throw in the cuff to one of the guys RBs.
One thing I would look to get done is get the handcuff to some of your RBs. Ray Rice for Willis, Chester for AP. You might be able to work them into a deal to get a better WR. Tough to say without knowing who or what you are targeting

That would honestly not surprise me at all if they did. I know what you are saying roto, but in order to get anything for him they will have to franchise him and then trade him. If they don’t, then he just walks and they get nothing in return.

Can’t project what they’ll do. What if they trade him? You could package him with an RB for someone like Colston or better, maybe.

Actually…..I read today that Roy thinks they may throw the franchise tag on him as well.

I really dont like either one going into this year. Calvin didnt impress me much last year. Roy wasnt quite his normal self of the last couple years. Pass happy Martz is gone; Mr. INT is still their QB; and hes what, 37?, and the Lions professed going “back to the basics” and running the ball more…all these things lead me to not want Roy on my squad too much longer. Who else would they franchise? Trade him while he still has decent value. I would hold onto Calvin, as he is still young and has a lot to prove… With all the WR drama lately; I see Roy falling into that category next year….Its a double edged sword: you want to keep Calvin, but if Roy gets franchised, youre screwed….
