Difficult Start and Drop Question

Thanks to Steven Jackson's injury and Marion Barber being out this week I have a difficult decision and I was hoping for some advice. I am starting Drew Brees, Brandon Marshall, Calvin Johnson, Adrian Peterson, DeAngelo Williams, Owen Daniels, Carolina Defense and no kicker at the moment. I need to decide on the flex starter. On my bench I have Steven Jackson (injured), Marion Barber (bye), Felix Jones (bye), Sammy Morris (injured), Jonathan Stewart (doubtful), Chester Taylor, Bernard Berrian along with Ray Rice and Jamaal Charles. I was trying to make a trade this week but I could not get it done in time. That's why I have so many RB's and no kicker.

My predictament is two fold. I need to decide on who to start in my flex and who to drop. The way I see it (correct me if I am wrong) the main two choices for the flex are Jamaal Charles and Ray Rice. But are one of them the person I should drop for a kicker? If so, long term outlook may play a role. Jamaal Charles is the man this week against San Diego and who knows about the rest of the season. Rice has a better match-up against Houston, but will he get enough carries to warrant a start over Charles? If he was the starter tomorrow would it make a difference? And is Rice's long term future better than Charles? Charles could replace LJ if suspended and Rice could surplant McGahee if things work out. Should I drop Charles or Rice? Felix Jones could be huge if Barber gets hurt, but Barber's never missed a game in his career. So maybe he's the player to drop? Maybe Sammy Morris, but I think he could be real good when he gets back in a week or two.

Any advice and help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

No way I drop Rice. I wouldn't even consider it.

I drop Morris. Sammy is out now, Charles is in. If Morris gets back in the line-up, so be it, but I'm not sure he will be the full-time guy when he is back on the field. I say keep Charles and trade him to the LJ owner for a WR upgrade… start Rice, he looks solid right now. There are risks in regards to his carries, and monitor the news on that, but he is a stud if getting the touches and I think he will get a good amount.

If I have to pick one - I pick Sammy Morris to drop.  He has two obstacles to scoring points:  health and Belichick.

i would drop charles and keep morris.  start rice this week in your flex.

imo Charles is not worth much being the lone back in KC.  when LJ gets back in the mix next week, his value falls even further.
