That was a nice 12 yard run by "The Burner" without roughly 6 left in the first. Don't get hurt, Burner!

well…he played against two defenses that were both out to shut out the run….he played okay i guess all things considering…one thing with him is that at a minimum he's gonna get goal line carries and thats a great start….speed and power…lateral movement could be improved but hey whos perfect…

I agree, both Defenses where geared to stop the SD run. Stats don't show what I saw yesterday and he actually is back on my good side again. I got to choose between him or Romo in one league. The amount of RB coming into the league right now has me leaning towards Romo, but if he goes to Clev, Cinci, or a main starting job I might change my mind. The thing I really liked from him yesterday is he got stopped early a bunch of times and always fought for some extra yards. He rarely goes down on first contact, and if he does manages to fall forward. His stats where not all that great against NE, but I thought he was impressive from that standpoint watching the game.

Yea, a lot of people are going to quote the stats from his playoff games an not the other grip of career games where he averages over 5 yards per carry :) Keep that in mind as you read other articles on him, etc. Stopping SD running the football in the playoffs is going to be a defenses first and primary objective.
Turner has proven he has the power, he most definitely has the speed and if given 18-20 carries a game, he will be one of the leagues biggest game breakers breaking off long runs with the best of them.
Like Ryan Grant, Michael Turner is not absolutely sure thing. There are very few sure things in this league lately, but both of these runners appear to be in the best position to be on the rise in this sport.

God I hope so that would be so incredible. I am really hoping for Cleveland. Although it was nice to see Jamal ball for Cleveland, I need Turner there for the longevity of my dynasty leagues. I mean it will be best for Cleveland and that is all I care about, yeah.

shame he wants $$$.
Pittsburgh would LOVE to get a power back, and they have a history of solid run production
that being said, if Lewis ditches Cleveland and the Brownies pick up Turner, I'm not even going to CONSIDER waiting on him. He becomes my 2nd pick in any redraft league

Panthers? I know it is just a writer, but it could be a possibility since Fox needs to win this year or be fired.
Then the Panthers should grab a power back to share the load with DeAngelo Williams. My No. 1 choice? San Diego's Michael Turner. Turner turns 26 today. He is stuck behind LaDainian Tomlinson with the Chargers, but he's a 5-foot-10, 237-pounder with 4.4-second speed in the 40-yard dash. He could be the Stephen Davis of 2003 here. Turner has averaged 5.5 yards per carry in limited work in San Diego. Someone will make him very rich in free agency. Why not the Panthers? — Charlotte Observer

I don't think he wants to share carries, nor do I want him on the same roster as DeAngelo. It could workout, but I'd rather see him go to a handful of other teams. I doubt he goes to CAR, but good to bring up while we wait.

Browns close to deal with Jamal Lewis
Posted by Mary Kay Cabot February 21, 2008 08:29AM
Indianapolis – A deal for Browns running back Jamal Lewis is imminent, Browns general manager Phil Savage told WTAM on Thursday. Savage said from the combine that a deal could be done within the next 24 hours. It is believed to be a two year deal with an option for a third.
Lewis, who rushed for 1,304 yards last season is set to become a free agent next week. It appears he'll be off the market soon.
Savage also said he'll meet Thursday in Indy with the agents for Derek Anderson. He remains optimistic the browns can get that deal done before free agency next week.

Seattle, Houston, Arizona. All three make sense, just about in that order.

I wouldn't mind AZ, because I'm expecting that offense to mirror Pittsburgh's offense soon enough, but they have a long history of ruining runners. Let's hope that doesn't happen. Edge can still carry the football and has a few years left. I sure hope they cut him if they sign Turner, I imagine they would.
SEA would need to cut Alexander and Houston would be not bad at all IMO.

Also, don't count out Cincy. I actually believe Cincy is his next best situation. I know many disagree, as noted in our Expert Mock Draft Thread, but I just don't see the long-term value in any of the RBs on that Cincy roster (Rudi, Watson, Irons or Perry). Only Watson can stay healthy, although many believe Rudi is going to prove some people wrong this year… I disagree.
Cincy is explosive and in need of a youthful rusher. Turner can catch, something people like to deny because he wasn't used much in that capacity, but he can. Cincy can use that and I think he would be ideal in Cincy if they got rid of Rudi.

I completly agree Smitty. In my opinion Cinci is probably second best fit outside Cleveland. I think Rudi has a lot of wear on the tires. I still like him, but he won't ever be the same. Watson will be on the bench if Turner comes in for sure. I think Turner could have big year in Cincy. 3rd place is a good distance though after those two I think. Houston and AZ are nice, but he would split for at least a year. I don't see Seatle making this move with their free agents.

I guess just got to keep our fingers crossed for Cinci now.
We should know probably early March I would think. Unless he gets a lot of crazy offers.

CLE signing Jamal has been kinda in the air for a while, I wasn't holding my breath that Turner would land there. It was the most ideal, but this isn't shocking nor does it change anything at all for Turner owners. He won't sign to share carries, don't worry!
