So I've been in a money league for eight years with some friends, this year I wanted more action so I signed up for a Yahoo free league. In my money league we have a live serpentine draft at my home. This will be the first time ever using a auto draft feature for a fantasy team. Seem a little crappy I can't draft my own team, however they use this auto draft and you can list players in the order you value. So how do I list my players, should I go RB through round one? before adding QB, and WR's?
This is a 16 team league
scoring:
Pass yds 20yds per point
pass TD 4pts
Russing yds 10yds per point 2 after 100 2 after 125 2 after 150
reception TD 6pts
receptions 20yds per point 2 after 80 2 after 100

Just list them how you like players, and don’t really consider positions. It won’t take backups till you have full lineup. So if you rank like 15 RB off the top it will skip the 3rd one till you get other spots filled QB, WR, etc.
You have to change Yahoo rankings, usually ranked from last year stats and some minor adjustments. usually can find somebody decent really deep and make sure you dig deep for those guys.
Basically just rank them like you would take them, but don’t worry so much about when to take a QB or whatever cause the CPU makes adjustments anyways. Check out the Redraft top 200 then make minor adjustment to your preference would be my suggestion.

A lot depends on what your league allows you to do, like set restrictions on not taking a QB after you already have one, etc. Also, your line-up requirements would help.

Thank you both for your replys!!
Smitty,
I'm not sure how the roster restrictions are set up. The positions are listed as followed: QB, WR, WR, RB, RB, TE, W/TE, K, DEF, BN, BN, BN, BN, BN, BN 9 starters, 6 bench
Does this make it nearly impossible to target a RB3 sleeper such as Mendy?

What I do is take a RB, then WR… past that, it comes down to flow… it wouldn't be the worst thing in the world to go RB, WR, WR in this type of league, and roll with a Mendy if he fell, but I don't know if he will fall to the fourth in a keeper draft. He would definitely fall in a yearly league, but prob not a keeper. If he did, that would be nuts. RB/WR/WR or RB/WR/RB is how I'd roll. Roethy and D. Anderson are falling far, I target those guys later. I just took Palmer in an expert draft and took him in the early 4th… then saw Roethy go a grip later. Roethy is falling for some reason.

i’m sorry, but any league that forced me to use an autodraft would not be a league I’d participate in
yahoo does live draft, why are you stuck with autodraft?

The higher you rank your players the more likely it is you will get them. You want Mendy as a #3RB? Slot him in after the two (and any other ones you would take instead) you do want.
Then you may end up with 3RB’s but sucky WR’s. It takes a lot of attention to detail.
Then there are the choices you may have…fill all starting spots first; BPA…however it is set up.
Auto-drafts test your ability to adjust during a season more than anything. Some of the puters drafting do a better job than you think.
As I said in an earlier post, I do one a year just for the challenge of it.
