As a #2 back or flex player who do you think is the better choice? I’m leaning towards Jones because of the improved Jets line and the fact that Jones takes the game seriously. BUT White does get the goal line carries.
My league is standard scoring and does not have PPR.
Thanks for your thoughts.

Welcome Steeler Steve, glad to have you aboard!
Agree with Gambler… I have Jones ranked slightly ahead of White and I think he has a nice rebound year with the J-E-T-S. That said, not sure I'd want either as my #2 unless it was a larger league.

I'd take white. Jones was still their main back last year and they didn't even use him inside the 10 yard line. Leon Washington got more touches. Take White. He may not be the best running back, but its hard to imagine him not duplicating 7 touchdowns again. Also, remember that white IS the horse back for the #1 run team in the league. Nobody runs the ball more than the titans.

tough call indeed. Both arguments have a lot of merrit. I think I'd flip a coin.

I like T.Jones a little more, very close though. I like the upgrade of the Jets OL this year and Jones will improve on his 1 td last year.

I’d take a chance with Jones…the Titans keep talking about bringing in more RB’s and White will have to show up or sit more this year…though that is up to him.

Hard to agree when they used a high draft pick on another RB the past 2 years. I agree that the Hamburglar should get another 7 TD's but with the improved line i expect Jones to match that with at least 1200 yards.
Give me Jones over LenDale this year for sure.

Thomas Jones, the Titans are not happy with what they got. Whoever they bring in will get the majority of the carries.

I like TJ this year over Twinkie. I think TJ is going to be a solid RB2 “sleeper” in that he’ll hit about 1200ish/8, and he will get drafted as a RB3-4
I don’t know what to make of Lendale. If he could be bothered to get himself some work ethic and lay off the fried pork rinds, he might be the runner I envisioned. Dude has all the potential to be a TD hog. Unfortunately, right now, he’s just a hog.
look at it this way. last year was, essentially, his “rookie year”. He broke 1200 YFS, had 7 TDs, a reasonably decent year. Yet who did the Titans take with their first pick, despite having one of the worst WR crews ever assembled?
That tells you something.
Also note, Thomas Jones has produced > 1300 YFS every year for the last 4 despite being on 2 different teams, and the NYJ just upgraded their offensive line. He has caught 50+ balls before, so he has proven that he can be a 3-down back. Also note, who did the Jets NOT draft this past season?
That’s right, a RB.

Lendale White gets no love. He may be the most underrated RB in the NFL this year and will be (barring any injuries) the Titans main ball carrier for years to come. The Titans will be installing a spread attack this year and White will have more room to run.
Chris Johnson- drafted because he is multi-talented and fits into the new scheme to a tee. He can line up in the slot and be a nioce change of pace back. This will only help White, imo.
Talks of bringing in another back i.e. Dayne or Jones, etc…of course, why wouldn't you want more depth at RB when you are a team that runs as much as you do. Chris Johnson is a rookie and Lendale is only going into his 3rd season…you need a veteren RB to keep the rooks on their toes. Chris Henry is, well…he is a bust. He was drafted to do the things that Chris Johnson will be doing from here on out.
Obviously these are just opinions, but I think White will have another good season and the addition of Johnson will really help him and the Titans out as a whole. “HAMBURGLAR” will be a solid #2 this year.

nice question….one thing we do know….white will get 350 carries…avg just over 3 yards a carry and be a league leader in fumbles…he will also single handedly increase all you can eat steak house stock all around the states…i think the jets made solid moves to improve that rb and jones is gonna be the benefactor….take jones…
