I have the opportunity to trade the 3.01 pick in my league's free agent/rookie draft for either T. Jones or Rudi Johnson…If I make the trade, I will need to use whoever I pick-up as my RB2 next year.  Which running back do you think will have the better year next year?  Long term in a keeper league?

I'm leaning towards Rudi due to his opportunity to work next to Palmer and the Cincy receivers, his commitment to adding bulk during the offseason, he has only 1441 rushing attempts, and Cincy is rumored to focus on a more ground oriented approach next year.  But, Thomas Jones will be running behind a much improved line and a new fullback and I expect he will improve his TD total next year.

I think you will get a wide variety of answers to this.  I think I'm rollin with Thomas Jones.  Outside TD's he still had 1,000 yards, and like you said he is playing behind a much better offensive line and the offense in general should be better.  Richardson at FB is the biggest addition in my mind.

Agree with Haimez - given the choice between those two, I'll take Jones.  Rudi still comes with a lot of questions and I'm not entirely sold he'll even produce this season - have a feeling that whole team could implode if things don't go right in the first part of the season.

I would go with Thomas Jones over Rudi Johnson anyday, Johnson still worries me a little with a possible rbbc situation. Besides Thomas Jones is one of my biggest sleeper picks and that improved o-line will help him out a lot.

Ok so you won't get a variety answers on this.

Thomas Jones is your man. As a cincy fan, I'm hoping for the best. As a fantasy owner RUDI downside scares me and I like the upside of TJ and his draft day value.

I agree with everyone in that I’d rather have Jones…but I could see the Jets going after a RB, whether it be through free agency or the draft, in 09.

I’m gonna go aginst the grain here. Along with most I am excited about Jones’ potential this year but the fact is the J-E-T-S will probably suck and jones will be average. Rudi is still Rudi. I see Cincy trying to keep there “D” off the field as much as possiable which equals alot of carries for Rudi! I like both but I think Jones is more hype until he and the jets prove us wrong!

I agree with James here and would stick with Rudi. One thing though, are you giving up a keeper for them plus your pick? Plus why is this posted in the redraft forum? o.k. two things… lol

As a Bengals fan, I'm still PO'ed they didn't take Mendenhall in the 1st round. Rudi's done… roll w/ tj.
