Last week, I was offered this trade in a PPR league, but I turned it down.  Not sure if I made a mistake, and the owner might still want the trade.  Should I take it?

Trade offer:

I give the following:

  1. Jay Cutler
  2. Ronnie Brown
  3. Mike Sims-Walker
  4. Denver Broncos

He gives up the following:

  1. Matt Schaub
  2. Ray Rice
  3. Mike Wallace
  4. Minnesota Vikings

We start the following:

1 QB

1-3 RB (.5 per reception)

2-4 WR (1 pt per reception)

1-3 TE (TE's get 1.5 per reception)

1 PK

1 Def

Pros:

Schaub is a better QB

Cons:

Schaub faces the Colts twice and he has a bye week.

My thinking was that I lose Schaub for Week 10, when I would play this other owner, and he has 2 tough match-ups against the Colts.  But now I'm thinking Cutler isn't that good.  But,   Also, I recently lost Owen Daniels, so I might need to keep Sims-Walker to help makeup the difference.  With Crabtree coming on, I could start 4 WRs.  Plus, I like Ronnie Brown's end of year schedule better.  I was thinking of offering back the same trade, but without Brown and Rice.  I also thought I'd like the Seahawks D more than the Vikings based on more favorable matchups left, and I can alternate by playing the Saints.  Thoughts?  Rosters listed below.

My Current Team (5-3)

  1. Jay Cutler
  2. Mike Bell
  3. Ronnie Brown
  4. Michael Bush
  5. Reggie Bush
  6. Michael Crabtree
  7. Pierre Garcon
  8. Andre Johnson
  9. Mike Sims-Walker
  10. Reggie Wayne
  11. Dustin Keller
  12. Marcedes Lewis
  13. Ben Watson
  14. John Carney
  15. Denver Broncos
  16. New Orleans Saints

His Team (4-4)

  1. Matt Schuab
  2. Ahmad Bradshaw
  3. Willis McGahee
  4. Ray Rice
  5. Michael Turner
  6. Carnell Williams
  7. Dwayne Bowe
  8. Malcom Floyd
  9. Brandon Marshall
  10. Mike Wallace
  11. Roddy White
  12. Fred Davis
  13. Tony Scheffler
  14. Olindo Mare
  15. Seattle Seahawks
  16. Minnesotta Vikings

I would take it.  Bye weeks are not as important with your current record.  I think Rice is an upgrade from Brown – Ricky is taking too many opportunities away from Ronnie in that offense and Rice has not found a matchup he didn't like.  Sims-Walker to Wallace is obviously a downgrade, but you can't get something without giving something.

i would take it.   the upgrade from Cutler to Schaub is worth it alone.  Schaubs schedule is much much better.  Colts secondary is reeling with injuries.

Schaub > Cutler

Rice > Brown

Wallace < Sims-Walker

Vikings > Broncos (IMO)

You win 3-1…I would make that trade.

12 team, full dynasty: Schaub, Stafford, Henne, AP, J Stew, Mendy, Chester, G Johnson, F Summers, AJ, Marshall, Roddy, Colston, Manningham, Jacoby Jones, Robiskie

I too would make that trade.  You've got more than enough talent at WR to part with Siims-Walker.

Why not, Tav?

Rogers / Gore, Rice, Brown, McFadden / Jennings, Manningham, Edwards, Garcon / Keller, Watson

Thanks for the input everyone. I'm still mulling it over.  I really like Ronnie Brown's upcoming schedule.  Brown really only has one difficult matchup in the next seven weeks, although Houston has gotten better.  Rice has a slightly more difficult schedule having to face Pittsburgh twice.  If I wasn't losing Schaub for week, and going against the player who I am trading with in Week 10, then I would jump on it, but I'm hestitant.  It may be too late now.  He may have changed his mind. One thing for sure, it makes his team better because his WR corp is not that strong, but his running game is with Michael Turner.
