Who to draft at #7??

When I saw that I had the #7 pick in my league I was pretty concerned.  My league is a NON PPR, 10 teamer, standard scoring league.  I assume that the top 5 RB will be gone (LT, AP, Westy, S. Jackson, and Addai) along with Brady.  So, that puts me in a pretty bad spot.  I really don't see any benefit to drafting Gore, Portis, MB3, L. Johnson or McGahee there since they are all very similar.  My thought is to go with Moss since, in my opinion, there is a pretty big drop in production from Moss, Wayne and TO to the #4 WR.  I would then pick one of those RB on the way back.  The guys in my league really like the RB/WR format, so I am banking on one of those guys being there.  Any thoughts/opinions are welcomed, thanks again as always FFX.

It’s a different strategy but one worth trying. I doubt any of those RB’s make it back to you but you never know.

I’d make heavy use of the draft sim and see how that strategy might work out. It won’t mirror how your league drafts but you see how the mid-rounds look. Use both links for a broader view.

Draft RB/RB…. You may not be overly excited to get one of them by themselves, but to get two of them puts you in a pretty good position. Since it is not PPR I don't think it would be a mistake. I think at 7 and no PPR I'd go RB/QB before I would go WR/RB

It's standard scoring no PPR, but what do QB's get for a TD pass?  4 or 6?  If it's 6, then I'd bet my shirt someone will nab a QB on top of those RB's you mention.  You have the 1-7, 2-14, 3-27, and 4-34.  Seems like you'll want to make sure you have 2 RB's, 1-WR, and possibly another WR or QB at this point.  Every draft is different and you have to roll with it.  Don't get caught in a RUN and ALWAYS draft BPA!  Good luck!  :)

I agree with both chuckey & crying TO

Assuming this is not a keeper or dynasty draft…

You should draft LJ at 1.7…then at 2.4 grab Gore, Moss, Portis, McGahee, Wayne, or MB3 in that order.
Then if they're not available…assuming these guys are available too…TO, Peyton, Lynch, MJD, Turner.

if you’re drafting 7 of 10, I’m snatching MBIII and his dozen TDs, then snatching Reggie Wayne or Braylon on the go-around, unless Willis McGahee or Clinton Portis make it back.

Great responses guys, I really appreciate them. This is a redraft, non-keeper league, with QBs getting 6 points for TDs. Here’s the thing, I know the guy drafting 9 and the guy drafting 10 are going to go RB/WR, I would be willing to bet money on it. So, thats some more background on why I’m thinking about going with Moss, but I really like kethnaab’s suggestion with MBIII and Wayne. I just don’t know if MBIII will get the 20+ carries a game, if he does, then hell ya I would take him.
