This isn’t really a request for a new feature or anything but I was thinking it might be cool if columns, rankings, etc. had their authors attached to them. I say this only because this website clearly doesn’t have one-minded beliefs - each writer/editor/whatever you call people that write columns on web sites has his own opinion. And obviously some of them are vastly differing opinions. I know that I haven’t posted on here a whole lot but I’m on here more than once a day - I like to read. Sometimes it’s just cool to know who says what so if you have differing viewpoints you learn to lean toward one writer over another. For example, Kevin Smith is ranked as the 6th best RB by Rivals, 8th by Scout, and if you google 100 mock drafts he’s rarely one of the first half dozen backs taken. Therefore, having a guy like Kevin Smith ranked as the third best rookie RB is either just a bold prediction or somebody has some insider information that most other people don’t. If this prediction turns out to be right and every single other fantasy “expert” is wrong than whoever made those rankings is a guy I want to follow as long as I’m involved in fantasy football. Know what I’m saying? Anyway, sorry for the rant. It was just supposed to be a quick suggestion.

Did that sound like a joke? Or did it just make no sense?

Rankings here are done by a staff average…either three or four if memory serves.

Where did you see Kevin Smith as the 3rd ranked rookie RB? Provide a link please. I did a search on the site and came up empty.
(EDIT) Thanks Smitty, now I see it!

Every single article written has a “by” line, so you do actually know who wrote what.

As for the Rankings, it is a staff average of 4. We eventually want them sortable by each set of rankings, I know that would be helpful.

As for our Prospects page, I see what you mean. I did the RBs, Ballgame ranks the QBs, WRs and TEs. I noted that for you. Thanks.

Also note that Mendenhall has moved up in my book to that #3. I was extremely high on Kevin Smith right off the bat, but one thing you have to realize in rookie RB evaluation is that things change quickly. Mendenhall is going to continue to rise on my personal draft board and I think he will be the #2 or at least #3 best rookie RB coming out. I think he will land in the 2nd or 3rd best situation. He has NFL-type skills and his game will translate to the NFL level IMO.

I watched some game film of Mendehall. And I think he needs to be the #3 RB taken in both real life and fantasy. However for fantasy purposes, if Kevin Smith slips, I think he is someone you need to trade back into rookie fantasy drafts for.

Yea, all of these player’s values depend on where they land. But I do like Mendenhall as the clear #3… at least until a landing spot for one of these rookies changes that.

I agree Smitty. Felix Jones is someone I will be keeping an extra close eye on.
