I'm just wondering why it is you dropped Yeremiah Bell from the 3rd ranked db down to 15th? Does it look like his role is going to be changing?
and also why the big jump up for Kerry Rhodes from 21st to 4th?

This is FFX – a safe ranking would have been to leave him high and if his numbers slightly decline point out that in retrospect that Miami signed the ONLY safety in the league that had a better fantasy season than him last year. This ranking anticipates Bell and Wilson being used interchangeably and acknowledges Wilson's longer history as an elite fantasy DB.
Bell is still a DB1 – these rankings indicate just how many there are. The difference between DB3 and DB15 is about 1ppr +/- change. ;)

NOTE
What will separate these fantasy players is going to be the minor injuries they accumulate, their ability to play well with them and the injuries that occur around them that force a change in their role within the defense….which leads us to…

Kerry Rhodes
Rhodes was forced to play in coverage the past few years adjusting for injuries and scheme. His rise is all about the new scheme and the overall defensive upgrade around him. It's a nod to Rex Ryan and his aggressiveness on D and the addition of Lito Sheppard, Jim Leonhard and Bart Scott.
Rhodes will now be able to play up in the box, blitz, disrupt plays and grab a handful or more of interceptions. I predict a return to his 2005/2006 numbers/fantasY status.

Tav,
Isn't Beason hurt (MCL sprain on the left knee)? In that context, in redraft leagues, maybe it would be prudent to drop him a bit? If it was not enough, he also lost his precious DT Kemoeatu not so long ago.

Absolutely amazing insight on K.Rhodes, and I have to agree 100%. Nice Job, people should have to pay money for all this valuable IDP info. :)

Good looking out Dadadee.
Beason is scheduled to miss the rest of pre-season. He's anticipated to return for the regular season and even if he were to miss the first few games, he'll produce like a top LB. He's just that good, imo.
If owners are worried, grab Beason as you normally would and add Dan Connor as insurance, or simply draft another quality LB as depth. The MLB position in the Carolina defensive scheme is idp gold, imo.

I just added Gary Guyton to the dynasty and re-draft lists. As I mentioned on the dynasty thread I expect him to be on the field in a 3-4 or 4-3 alignment.
In re-drafts I can't put him more than a depth LB at this time but he's closer to a LB4 than a LB5 in my book.

Elvis Dumervil outplayed D.J.Williams IMO against Chicago the other night. Is there any chance this guy gets more action considering Denver's offense may suffer? Is he merely a 3rd down LB/DE? I could see a D.Ware type season for him. Sleeper? 70 tackles, 12 sacks?

Dumervil isn't a favorite of mine at the OLB position. I'd advise to go with your gut. No reason he can't produce pro-bowl numbers but up till now his value has been in big play leagues that give a lot of points for sacks.
His tackle numbers should go up but with A.Davis next to him I see him more in the 40 tackle range with 7/8 sacks.
A wild card in the Bronco defense is Mario Haggan. Keep an eye out to see if he snags a starting gig.

i'm with Tav on this one regarding Dumervil. He isn't an OLB. He's too short and stocky and slowjjj. I would avoid him. 40/8 is being generous IMHO. I'd pencil him in for about 30/6(ish) to be honest. Color me unimpressed.
as for Rhodes, I still wonder if he will be able to do "his thing" with all the talent around him. That's a lot of people he's competing with for tackles, and the NYJ' DL is strong enough to keep the OL off the LBs. I'm not sure Rhodes will be able to beat both Harris and Scott to the ball consistently. I definiitely like him, but i definitely don't like him having to fend off that much talent for tackles.
as for Yeremiah Bell and Gibril Wilson, Tav is finally catching up with me (snicker). I've been avoiding both this season for the simple fact that they will be drafted far too early for their production. Not good value IMHO. Wait an extra round or three and grab Marshall or Harper instead
