12 team league
Scoring: Tackle 1.25, Asst .5, Sack 4, INT 5, PD 2.5, SFTY 5, FF & FR 2, Block kick 7, TD 6, 1 pt every 40 return yards
Starting 3 Def. flex positions, and 2 DB's
So far My IDP's :
D – Willis, Beason,C. Lofton
DB – Tillman
I am big on CB's scoring in this system, with 2.5 for a PD. We are in the 17th Round and I have 6 picks before my next pick in Round 18.
Honestly the reason I was not taking Josh Wilson was because I was planning on taking Leodis McKelvin. I did not want to mention his name until I had him. But someone else figured it out. So my next two picks were going to be L. Timmons and then a DB in RD 18 like McKelvin. But for some reason Josh Wilson is still OTB tight now with onepick left before me. Should I go Josh Wilson here and then Timmons with my next pick? Advice please?

I took Josh Wilson. I just hope he keeps a prominent role on D, and his kick return duties. I just could not pass on him now that someone just snagged McKelvin ahead of him, right before I was ready to take him. I really feel Josh Wilson's numbers will take a hit this year. But I guess it is worth the risk if he can produce like last year.

If it's worth anything, I'd have made the same call.

2.5 per PD? wow.
1/40 KR yards is a nice little boost in your league. 1000 return yards is only 25 extra points, the equivalent of about 20 extra tackles in your league's scoring.
Wilson will see the field quite a bit and will return kicks. Big advantage (vs. punts)
you made the right move

the 2.5 PD really helps raise the DB scoring value. So it is not just tackles to look at, when taking a DB.
And the return yardage yes is just a boost, But guys like McKelvin and Wilson should have well over 1,000 return yards I hope. Last year I believe they were around 1,700 Wilson and 1,500 McKelvin respectively as far as return yards. So yes, It can be a very nice boost added to a player who has a regular role on offense or defense.
And thanks also Kethnaab.
I am next OTC again, probably tonight or tomorrow morning. I am thinking Timmons here still. But was also considering a DB like Cortland Finnegan or Cedric Griffin. I will most likely end up taking Timmons, and I will take my chances with a DB next round.
