So I'm joining a brand new dynasty league. We'll be drafting established NFL players in March and in-coming rookies in April after the NFL draft. I'm picking 12th in the first draft (serpentine) and 1st in the rookie draft. I've played dynasty for the past 5 years but I'm really not sure of the other 11. Not a PPR league. 2RB 3WR 1TE 1K 1DEF. Any trade talks I've had have involved the 1st rookie pick. That would be OK, maybe, if I could keep my #1 in the first and have two 1st rounders and no first rounder in the rookie draft but what these guys want to do is swap 1st rounders and rookie picks.
Any thoughts? I’m leaning now to just staying where I am thinking I can get maybe two of the top 10 RB (maybe Lynch & Grant?) as well as McFadden. Not a bad RB corps to start with in theory. Anyway, I’ve got about 50 days to get this right…

I think you should stay right where you are Steevie. Your #12 pick in the regular draft is actually a great place to be. You’re right…you should be able to grab two RBs like Lynch/Grant/Parker with your 1/2, and you’ll have some nice WRs to pick from on your 3/4.
The fact that you have the #1 in your rookie draft is golden!
I’d like to see your team once your draft is over, but I’m suspecting you’ll have a good one.

I’m with Hambone on this. Stay where you are…and start running some draft simulations using every possible combo…see what kinds of teams you assemble. The rookies are mixed in but you can learn a lot.
Welcome to the site Steevie.

I’d have to see what offers come along before I say no, but I also agree that I wouldn’t trade out of your situation unless it was a solid offer.
I would love to have AP and McFadden on the same roster, but Parker, FWP and McFadden could be a mean RB crew for the now and future.
When you have offers, bring them here and then I’ll hit ya with a yes or no… I’d entertain the 12/13 for the 1 and something for sure, just depends on what you can get back.

I would wait until after the 1st draft to entertain any offers for that #1 rookie pick.
