It’s time once gain for an updated version of the rookie RB rankings. I’ll post mid-way through the page…

I'll give it a shot:
1) McFadden
2) Mendenhall
3) F. Jones
4) Stewart
5) Charles
6) Chris Johnson
7) Rice
(8 )K. Smith
9) Forte
10) Hart
I have to admit, my knowledge once we get to 8-10 is pretty weak. I don't think Slaton will be that great a pro, too small and mainly a 3rd down back type. I was going to throw that Oman guy in there that Haimez keeps touting.
Only real surprise I guess is that I have Jones ahead of Stewart…I think Jones is going to be a good pro.

1. McFadden
2. Mendenhall
3. Stewart
4. F. Jones
5. Forte
6. K. Smith
7. Rice
8. Choice
9. Parmele
10a. C. Johnson
10b. Charles
384. Omon
I guess I am the leader of the Forte is going to be great group. And the only reason I have him 5th is that there would be no need to draft him in the top 4 since no one will take him there. I like Choice and Parmele as emerging players. Charles fumbles too much, can you say RB bust from Texas? Johnson is fast and a good KR, but he will never be a lead RB.
Underrated - Forte, Choice, Parmele
Overrated - Charles, Johnson, Hart, Slaton

HAHA…love the 384 pick…I'm on it!! I pretty much agree with your overrated ones. I don't know enough about Johnson to say for sure…but I don't think the other two make great pro back

I'll give some love to Xavier as well. I've seen and read some very good things on him. Rice has risen for me, Smith has risen as has Forte. McFadden I want to drop even further. I have cooled on Jones and Charles a bit.

My new thing is the Jets pass on McFadden and go Oman later in the draft.

I can see this. I think the Jets would pass on McFadden as well.

the most potential:
1. Rashard Mendenhall - best combo of size and strength
2. Darren McFadden - not convinced that he will live up to his talent, but too much talent to ignore
3. Jonathan Stewart - has “TD pig” written all over him
4. Felix Jones - he's going to be a nasty 2-way threat, a la Westy
5. Chris Johnson - way too much speed and too good of hands not to play, look to see him doing slot receiver chores on 3rd downs
6. Matt Forte - SR Bowl made me a believer
the best of the rest
7. Ray Rice
8. Kevin Smith
9. Jamaal Charle
10. Tashard Choice

Call me crazy, but I like Smith a whole lot. I think he and Stewart will be the 2 relevant rookie fantasy RB's in 08.

You are not alone in liking Smith…from what I’m reading he’s climbing; #3 in one instance.
Hes’ not quite there yet for me…know more in a month !!!

I think people are listening too much to Mike Mayock! McFadden will be a stud for years to come. I also am on the Kevin Smith bandwagon and will say that I think Felix Jones might be a little overrated, unless placed in the right situation. I don’t like Chris Johnson or Mike Hart from a fantasy perspective.
1 DMC (can run, catch and throw TDs)
2 Mendenhall (ideal size and good measurables)
3 Stewart (toe injury concerns me because they are often lingering)
4 K Smith (best natural and instinctive runner in this draft class)
5 M Forte (reminds me of a bruiser like Jamal Lewis)
6 F Jones (undersized but could be a strong addition to a RBBC)
7 R Rice (workhorse who just needs a chance)
8 T Choice
9 J Charles
10 S Slayton (soft but very talented)
