So, Mendenhall is crushing McFadden on the Site Poll question on the homepage and he has moved into our #1 spot on our FFX Rookie Rankings.
Is he your #1? Why or why not?
Here is our most recent Player Spotlight, which is on Mendenhall
- 04-24 RB Rashard Mendenhall
This 2008 NFL Draft is likely to produce two future top ten fantasy
running backs. Both Darren McFadden and Rashard Mendenhall are that
talented, and one of them might end up being a top five overall pick
for years and years to come. Granted, for this to happen, these rookies
will have to find solid landing spots during this Saturday's 2008 NFL
Draft, but at this point in the week, we're fairly confident… Read More

I honestly wish you would have added Stewart as well to that poll. Not quite sure why he wasn’t added. I’ve maintained for a while now (along with a few others here) that by teh end of this season the RB’s will be ranked as follows: Stewart, Mendy, then McFadden.
McFadden is fast and has a good skill set…but he’s not a 300+ carry back in the NFL. He’ll be in a RBBC no matter where he ends up. I’d take either of the other backs ahead of him as they appear *to me* to be backs that can carry the load for their teams.

I think Mendenhall will have better success in NFL. Strong body runs thru tackles good and i love his hands.

I think that Stewart has a shot, but we just wanted to see how people view those two by themselves, the question wasn't who is the best fantasy back of the future, it was who would have a better NFL career between the two.
I like Stewart a lot, though, I sure hope he lands in a good place. HOU would be perfect, DET is decent, but for some reason I just don't think it would be the best place.

He has the best frame of the three backs. Stewart has a solid NFL frame as well, and people don't realize how strong and cut that guy is. He isn't fat. At all!

I feel the same way as Gambler. Also agree that two featured backs could come out the top three of this draft…Stewart & Mendenhall, imo. The RB’s are going to give fantasy owners some solid options in the coming years. I believe that at least two other RB’s will develop into #1’s with at least a half dozen carving a niche as two down or 3rd down/return specialists.

Mendy is my third ranked RB. I see him as being VERY good just not better than Stewart and McFadden.

It's crazy now how everyone has a different opinion on the 3 RBs. I think a lot will be sorted out this weekend!! Can't wait.

In a PPR league, I find it hard to pass on Mendenhall, in favor of Stewart. The two rbs are so close in my opinion, but Mendenhalls hands have really impressed me, and his overall running style and body type just make me think a team will be more inclined to get him involved in the passing game as well as the running game.
Stewart is said by many experts to have good hands as well, but the little footage available doesn’t confirm this, and he just strikes me as a more in-between the tackles kind of runner. The little footage of Stewart I have seen has Stewart making some great catches, but also being wildly inconsistent in that facet of the game.
Mendenhall just has the ultimate upside, and perhaps is a little less risky, even though I think Stewart will recover from his injury just fine.
If anyone has seen more footage of Stewart in the passing game, I’d love to hear your comments.

I don't know. The best RBs can't run without a line. They basically had their pick of OTs at that point. I thought it was the right call at the time. Probably also gun shy taking another 1st round RB so soon after Benson…who still (very faint chance) work out.
I would have really liked to see ARZ take Mendenhall. That would have been awesome. Oh well. Lots more questions than answers for me today.

I love Mendy in PIT for the long-term, I've said it all over. In 2008, it could take some time, but look at AP, Addai, and in some cases MJD… sharing carries means nothing at times. And FWP is not a long-term guy anymore, Mendy has a potent offense in PIT and will get a ton of work.
I can't believe more fantasy owners aren't excited about his long-term value!!!!

in a new 10 team PPR dynasty league where u can start 2 RB and have 2 flex positons, is mendenhall late third round an easy pick?
