Jacobs leaves game with knee injury
It is unknown how long he will be out, if at all, but it is said to be a knee sprain and tests will be performed today or tomorrow on the knee.
Pick up Derrick Ward! Droughns could be valuable as well, but our guess would be that Ward is next in line based on talent… he is listed as the #2 but that doesn't always translate.

found it funny that so many were sooo high on Jacobs. EVERYONE knew a guy of his size (6'4") couldn't make it through a NFL season. I'll admit I thought he'd last more then hte first half of the first game but deffenetly saw this coming.

I think there is more to this story and Im not too worried just yet. He got right up, no limp or hesitation, and jogged off the field……how bad could it be??? Its definatly a strange situation, unless I missed something.
Anyway, Im not about to give up on my Man-Crush yet….lol geez you could give a guy more than a week before we condem him cant you?….lol Maybe I should dump S-Jax since he only got me 1 point this week.

My problem has always been his size (and how the team plans to use him full-time)… that is it. I love how big he is just on a carry by carry basis, but when analyzing his value for a season or longer, the odds were (are, even if he ends up being ok) against him lasting long at a 20 carry pace.
I love watching him and if my life was on the line and I needed a yard, he'd be my guy lol. The smart play for the Giants (if ends up being ok) would be to keep him around 12-14 carries a game… that way he'd stay healthy and probably average close to 5 yards per carry.
We predicted injury for this guy so heavily on this Site because the Giants were set to give him starter-type carries… it is bound to hurt a 6-4, 260+ pound human being. If they took his carries down to 12-14, you'd see him actually climb in our rankings… and a ton.
At 12 carries a game, he'd still get 900-1000 yards and 8TDs. That would be excellent. So don't get us wrong on this topic, Weekend, we like a lot about what he brings to the Giants… If Jacobs is ok, maybe this is a wake-up call and the team scales his carries back even a little to give him more shelf life.

Honestly Ward looking better then Jacobs did anyway. Even if Jacobs turns out to be ok in a week or two I'd still roll with Ward and put Jacobs back at this goal line/short yardage where he's more effective. Then again, I'm not the Giants offensive coordinator.

Yea, I think Ward is going to earn some playing time at the very least. Again, this is better for Jacobs owners if this happens. He has the best shot at staying healthy with a scaled back workload. I hope he is ok for all you Jacobs owners. Grab Ward, he looks great right now!

Just heard Coughlin say Jacobs injury was a MCL. Not sure if that means sprain, tear, or what but I'm going to assume he'll be down for 2 weeks or so atleast.

Those are painful, but it is better than an ACL in most cases without question.

Glad you got him. We had talked about Ward before the week, he has been impressing us even before this week. He is a great pick-up.
