Saints wide receiver Marques Colston had surgery on his thumb for a torn ligament and is expected to miss the next 4-6 weeks.

Link wouldn’t load so I couldn’t grab it.

Per rotoworld.com:
Marques Colston underwent surgery on his thumb for a torn ligament and is expected to miss the next 4-6 weeks.

This will test Sean Payton and Drew Brees, who each manage to find receiving yards in odd places. David Patten and Devery Henderson should step up as starters and be better fantasy options, but the Saints will spread it around too much. No one is likely to be consistent. Jeremy Shockey should see more targets, and the Saints will rely more on Reggie Bush and the running game.

So, who do most people think will benifit most?  Patten, Henderson or Meacham.  I picked up Meacham trying for a homerun due to his potential.

I just threw up in my mouth. I guess I got to pick up Meachum also. I am desperate in the league I got him also, my only backups are Josh Morgan and Jabar Gafney. No more margaritas before drafts. Now I got to go for the old desperate trade, but I got 9 RB so shouldn’t be a problem.

It's awful news. I sure hope 2008 doesn't start taking out the first and second rounders like 2007 did.

Anybody heard anything on Colston progress? Is cast off, early recovery. I heard slow recovery but that was right after injury. Any updates from locals who listen to radio? The internet surprisingly has little info on this which is amazing to me since he is such a big name now and huge part of their offense.

No kidding.  I have Marshall, but beyond that it's a rag tag bunch I'm playing.

Wed, Oct 1 Larry Holder, of the Biloxi Sun-Herald, reports New Orleans Saints WR Marques Colston (thumb) missed the team's practice Wednesday, Oct. 1, and he will be in a cast for one more week. He is targeting the team's Week 8 game for his return.

(KFFL)

We'll see, I really don't expect him back till week 10 because they have a week 9 bye.  Week 8 would be nice.

I can't wait that long!  Especially since we have no idea what he'll be like when he gets back.  Ugh…time to move him!
