Culpepper was released by the Dolphins today to avoid the meeting tommorow…….Dolphins didn’t want to deal with the situation so they just dropped him. Bring on Jacksonville or Greenbay…

Yep, some how I knew the first post on the forums on the CPep News would be FavreMoss :)

Our guess is GB, but I’m sure you will hear a ton of rumors in the coming days.

I could see Atlanta going after with the Michael Vick Breaking News.

I’m wondering if Cpep’s phone is ringing off the hook right now? Atlanta wants him but won’t make a move until further information is available to the status of Vick’s 2007 season. And that could be too late. Rumors floating now are that Jacksonville is still the heaviest interest with the Jets starting to inquire about him and even a possible long shot off Cpep going back to his old Off. coach Scott Linehan in St. Louis, with a possible hold out of Bulger. But the one team that was interested (Green Bay) has quieted down for now. Its pretty nuts how a Qb that was supposedly washed up and being pushed out of the league now is a very hot commodity now after one little indictment. I think Green Bay has more important issues right now…Like a 6 year 60-70 million dollar contract to hammer out with someone????hmmm…..

The Vick thing just throws Atlanta’s name into the mix late… I heard a report that Jacksonville had already worked out details of a contract with him back when he was on the trading block. Looks to be a 3-year deal and all that’s left is to sign on the dotted line…. unless someone steps in with some serious cash. Plus, why would Culpepper go to Atlanta not knowing Vick’s situation? Jacksonville is much more stable and he is guaranteed to start - Atlanta and Green Bay (or St. Louis for that matter) can’t offer that right now.

Really?! Guaranteed to start?! Hard to believe.

Well, I suppose I took some liberty with that statement. Let me rephrase… “Jacksonville is much more stable and his best chance to start”

Especially if he is not fully healed, I think Green Bay fits his style better than Jacksonville from a career point of view. In Jacksonville, he has Matt Jones and Ernest Wilford and a coach that absolutely hates turnovers. In Green Bay, he would probably have to wait one year to step into Donald Driver and Greg Jennings and a staff that has no problem with a risk-taking gunslinger quarterback. Culpepper likes to be a star.

The one thing that Jacksonville has going for it is that it is about 2 hours away from his home.

From a fantasy perspective, if he goes to Jacksonville, I’m not touching him. If he goes to Green Bay I might actually pick him up as a future flyer in a deep dynasty league.

PFT.com has reported that the Tampa Bay Buccaneers have sneaked Cpep in for a look and that they could make a run at him even though they already have 17.4 QBs on the roster as it is……Shortly after that release the Lions have become interested…..Just as I said before this thing is going to turn into a bidding war and Cpep will benefit from it the most being able to choose his destination.

Tampa is an interesting possibility. It’s another one, like Green Bay, where CPepp would probably not play much or at all this year — but where he could replace Garcia in 2008. Normally I would say that the Lions is a ridiculous possibility — except for the fact that initial reports on Stanton out of the mini-camps, as the heir apparent to Kitna, were not positive.

What I have not heard yet in the midst of all of this is any teams having their trainers/doctors examining him and providing any reports on his condition. I find it hard to believe that Miami brought in Trent Green if they felt that Culpepper was ready to play in 2007.

I heard a rumor that he wouldn’t be able to pass a physical. Anyone else heard this?
