Jets waived QB Brett Favre off their reserve/retired list.

This could mean nothing, or it could mean something. Players waived off the retired list become unrestricted free agents, and there have been some rumors lately that Favre is contemplating a return. Something had to spur this transaction, because the Jets would've just left Favre on reserve/retired otherwise. It's possible Favre wants to sign a one-day contract to retire as a Packer. It's also possible that the Vikings want him again.

Source: Newark Star-Ledger

Free agent Brett Favre requested to be removed from the Jets' retired list “several weeks ago” through his agent, according to the AP.

However, Favre “insisted he had no plans to come out of retirement” at the time. Why would Favre request his release if he didn't plan to play a 19th season? He may just be keeping his options open in case he gets another “itch.”

Hmmm…interesting!Tongue out

Well if he does come back, he won't be announcing anything until almost August, that's for sure.

I was getting ready to call it an early night and had an urge to check for a football update.LOL  Go Favre!!!

Part of me thinks it is hillarious he is hooked to football like a junky for adrenaline, but seriously will I ever feel comfortable cutting him from a dynasty team?  I mean when can I truely know he isn't coming back?

If he is a Vicking he will be insane!!!!  Huge bumps for everybody on Vikes.  One thing downer is he always plays like crap in Minn.

I am driving the Josh Johnson bandwagon……All Aboard

I seriously almost dropped him over the weekend in Xtreme 16 Dynasty league.  Whew, I think I'll hold on to him for awhile just in case.

The Vikings' quarterback situation is about as stable as Favre's ability to stick to a retirement.  HaHaHa!

Vikings coach Brad Childress says the team has not discussed Brett Favre yet, but the subject is expected to be addressed at some point in the near future.

Favre is close to Vikings offensive coordinator Darrell Bevell, and the team would likely be interested if the future Hall of Famer/current waffler gets the “itch” again. It's worth noting that the Vikes aren't closing the door on Favre despite owner Zygi Wilf stating unequivocally that he had no interest just over two months ago.

Besides being an absolute perfect fit, going to Minn would be about the best way to piss off the Packers.LOL  Minn is really only a QB away from Super Bowl imo.

Plus, B.Berrian is my WR5…so I wouldn't mind at all if his value jumped with Favre at QB.

Favre is better than any quarterback on the team, but he would be a huge distraction. Sage is good enough, TJack is coming along.

Watch out Teddy Thompson!!!!!! Favre is comin to Minnesota!!!! Ted you will pay!!!!!! I think Brett just doesn’t want Peyton Manning to break his touchdown record, so he figures if he keeps playing then Peyton cant catch up.

Sage and Tavaris are pukes…..They will never be NFL Quarterbacks….using them now is a waste of a good team just needing a good Quarterback
