RB Adrian Peterson: Vikings going all the way in 2008?

FFX: In an interview with Smitty from FantasyFootballXtreme.com, Vikings RB Chester Taylor was very motivated for the 2008 NFL Season. When asked what his expectations were for the ‘08 season, Chester Taylor said, “We’re going all the way next year… we were just one game out of the playoffs and we’re looking forward to another year.” FANTASY: For those that fear that Adrian Peterson and Chester Taylor won’t find a lot of room to run in 2008, you may want to get a check up from the neck up. Peterson is clearly a top 2-3 pick on draft day, and Chester is a must-handcuff and a crafty mid-round grab by non-Peterson owners. Eight-man fronts won’t stop this rushing attack in 2008.

Did you tell Chester that you’re about to take his buddy AD #1 overall in the upcoming 2008 Fantasy Expert Mock? :)

I am going AP at the moment… as for the Chester comment, yea, that didn’t come up :) If he was going to ask me where I’d draft him, I had it planned out… I was going to tell him I couldn’t hear him because I was going through a tunnel… then I’d hang up :)

In all seriousness, Chester has great sleeper value this year and is a must-own for AD owners. He is also, like our news bit says up above, a secret weapon-type grab in the middle rounds, and really a decent flex even as a back-up in larger leagues. If AD goes down, the guy has top 10 upside.

Ya, I think as an AD owner you have to have Chester on your roster. If you look at the weeks that AD was down this year, Chester really did a decent job of keeping up the numbers.

Yep, Chester was a top 15 overall pick before the Vikes shockingly took AD… so top 10 numbers are expected, especially behind that offensive line, which has gotten even better since Chester headed up the rushing attack the year before last. Great sleeper. Must handcuff.

…and if I had only picked him up in the draft last August, I would have been okay. If I recall correctly, I took someone like Chatman (RB MIA)…what I was thinking at the time is beyond me. At the time, my keeper RBs were SJAX, AD, and Maroney. Yeah…I didn’t win the league this year…

Well, with that crew, I’d say you’re on your way in 2008.

Let’s hope so. I’m in the midst of negotiations for McFadden right now, but I fear it’s going to take Willie in order to get him.

FWP and what? I’d trade FWP for McFadden in a sec, but that’s me. Some doubt him, which is fine. It’s an argument no one will win for a year or so.

I may be able to get him straight up, which I don’t have a problem with. However, I pulled off a trade today that landed me the #3 pick in our rookie draft. I think he may be after this too, so it’s going to take some packaging, I think.

I’ve been working on this one for about a month now, and I’m trying to be really carefull, as a couple of owners in this CBS league are now starting to peruse this site…the vultures! LOL
