X-rays on LaMont Jordan’s injured back came back negative Monday.
Initial reports indicated that Jordan’s back injury could be serious, but this is a great sign that it may be something he can overcome during the Raiders’ bye week. If Jordan is to miss game action, Dominic Rhodes and Justin Fargas would likely split carries in Week 6 against San Diego .

Yep this is good news for Jordan owners. Hopefully he can return after the week 5 bye, or at least the week after. He has been a machine so far.

All I know is he didn’t practice today which isn’t good. Looks like Rhodes might get the start, but still early. Scoop up Bush if you guys have room.

LaMont Jordan was unable to complete practice Wednesday because of his lingering back injury.
Jordan reportedly looked ready to go and was doing crunches before the workout, but coach Lane Kiffin said “It’s still early. Day by day he’ll feel good, then all of a sudden he won’t.” Dominic Rhodes and Justin Fargas split first-team reps Wednesday after Jordan departed the practice field.

LaMont Jordan says he wants to play Sunday against the Chargers, but isn’t sure how his back will hold up.
He’ll be a classic game-time decision, as Jordan won’t know whether he’ll play until Sunday before an afternoon start. Jordan says he won’t risk hurting the team by being active and not contributing. He hasn’t made it through a full practice yet this week, which isn’t a great sign.

LaMont Jordan is active for Week 6 against the Chargers.
A surprise, as Jordan was listed as doubtful. He likely won’t see a full workload, but his presence wipes the fantasy value away for Justin Fargas and Dominic Rhodes.
