Just read this….
Rotoworld) Speaking on The Audible, Atlanta Journal-Constitution beat writer Orlando D. Ledbetter said Michael Turner could see less than 300 carries this season.
Analysis: Turner famously had 377 carries last, and they clearly are hoping to lessen Turner's load. It's hard to believe, though, a healthy Turner could fall to the 270-280 carry range as Ledbetter suggests, but the comment is a reminder how far Turner's workload could conceivably dip. Jerious Norwood's role may grow and Atlanta may throw more often.

What do you guys think of this news? I can see Turner getting less carrries this year. But what this guy is suggesting is a HUGE reduction! Turner is the ATL's bread and butter. Ryan should improve and Tony G is there. Thoughts?

Atlanta's defense looks better this year, and they will probably be playing with a lead. Turner will get his.

as a turner dynasty owner id be cool with right at 300…that offense isnt gonna have to lean on him as much…hopefully his avg will go up and opportunity to score will increase…making those fewer carries mean more…

The falcons will trail a lot this year with a crazy schedule and a defense that lost many players. They will have to throw a lot more than last year. It is only logic that Turner will have less carries.

Less doesn't always mean less production. Gonzo could help him average more yards per carry. It's all about the TDs IMO, not those carries. Will Turner get the same TD production in 2009? I still have him ranked top 5, hell, no one likes the runner more than me :) But I still like AP more in 2009 and S-Jax deserves equal consideration in 2009.

You honstly think SJax has a greater then 10% chance of making it through the season without getting injured? Fools gold.

This comes from a sportswriter, not the coach. He could just as easily be a fantasy sports writer as a beat writer. The only thing shorter than an RB's career is an NFL coaches career. m/o.
