Yep, Vick is in some trouble now. The legal system still needs to take its course, but the commish could take action just off this and we think that he will.

Yes….it was funny how it quieted down for awhile and his value began to rise a bit again……but now the bottom fell out…….

So this brings up the question of in a dynasty league where his value will be.

I’ve read “highlights” of the indictment on PFT and what they did to those dogs is sickening. Vick is a dirtbag.

Remember that this means charges are being brought against him - who knows what evidence they have. Getting Indited isn’t the toughest thing to do, but they obviously have some kind of evidence.

Still, start getting a back-up plan together if Vick is your 2007 starter!

Glad to hear they got him. I only believe every word of what has been said. It looks like he comes from a bad gene pool. Way to go Ron Mexico. Nice example you set for your little brother, he’s a piece of work also

Hey, what happens to Jerious Norwood’s value. I have to believe that, unless the Falcons can land a quality replacement at QB soon, everybody’s value takes a hit

I feel the same that unless Falcons land a quality QB that can prove to be a leader, the rest of the team will take a hit. But, a lot of us knew it was coming and either drafted the rest of the team later hoping for a gem in the deep rounds or avoiding them. If you drafted Vick (cough WW cough) nice gamble and you still don’t know.

These are Federal indictments, not a local ones - he is in major league trouble. And the Commissioner will likely hand down some sort of punishment regardless of what happens with the indictments.

I say the value of all other Atlanta players has hit the rocks for the time being. The team will be hard pressed to focus on football and with a new coach and offensive system being implemented, that spells disaster. Should be interesting to see who they make a play for at QB.

This is the 1st major issue Vick has had with the law isn’t it? If so isn’t the new NFL policy clearly state that it is aimed at multiple offenders?

Don’t get me wrong I think he will be out for some time period, but I think it is too early to write off his entire season.

Is it the first? Didn’t he get caught with marijuana?

ESPN is reporting that a lot needs to happen before Vick gets handed a suspension, but Yahoo Sports is reporting that there are bigger issues at hand, where Vick’s lies in a face-to-face with the NFL’s commish could be the reason we all might have to put a fork in him soon.

You’re gonna hear all kinds of things in the coming days and weeks and maybe even longer.

I almost never post a link on a site. If you don’t want this here Smitty just edit it out. But here is a copy of the actual indictment: http://www.thesmokinggun.com/archive/years/2007/0717072vick1.html

Warning: parts of this make for some fairly gruesome reading, including especially the execution of some of the dogs.

It appears that they have been able to get at least three witnesses to flip and testify against Vick and the other three. This is not exactly what I would call a wishy-washy indictment. The amount of detail is simply amazing — dates, locations, amount of money involved, and even the names of the dogs.

I agree with Smitty by the way. Unless this Federal prosecution is totally bogus, and I doubt it after reading the above, Vick has more to worry about than the new NFL policy. The face-to-face lies to Goodell doesn’t help. The fact that they trotted him onto the stage as a highlight at the beginning of this year’s rookie draft is going make those lies sting even more. Goddell has to be mad as #*%% right now. And I’m not too certain that the Falcons themselves can afford to live with this one considering the likely backlash from fans (especially with Vick’s magical finger last year). The obvious and essential disclaimer is that he hasn’t been proven guilty yet. So I don’t know that you can stick a fork in him, but if he isn’t already done he is close to it, IMO.

It’s always innocent until PROVEN guilty, but at the very least Vick will be playing with this hovering over his head. In the best case scenario he is no more then a bye week fill in . . .

I expect at least a four game suspension and very, very likely much more. If Goodell bagged Pacman for the year before he was indicted, he needs to punish Vick too.

I think Vick plays this year, and that is the end of it. I think NFL won’t punish him until convicted, but Arthur Blank is another story. Kind of tuff situation with the trade before the draft.

What I don’t get is ESPN says only Multiple Offenders??? Isn’t knowingly passing herpes a crime? Waterbottle at Airport? His brother is an idiot, and obviously family values are off.haha

I absolutly hate the things he did, but he plays his value doesn’t change on my board. My emotions are stone cold when it comes to my fantasy team.

Not the best comercial if your trying to say you never went to the house and didn’t know about dog abuse. Notice the shoes use the name in the charges also “Ookie”.

Terence Moore with the Atlanta Journal Constitution just stated on NFL’s Outside the Lines that regardless of whether this is viewed as a first offense Michael Vick should be suspended for the current season as soon as possible.

I really think that even if Goodell doesn’t act on this, Vick may have a serious problem with Atlanta fans and his own team may act. What I expect to happen is for the Atlanta Falcons give Vick a leave of absence until all of this is settled. He’s already flashed the bird to his own fans. The Falcon’s have no control over the court calendar — so they have no control over when Vick will or will not be available for training or games — much less the distractions. Training camp will become a media circus. Games will be picketed by animal rights activists. Regardless of what Goodell does, I expect the Falcons themselves to sit Vick. Is it fair? I don’t know. But it’s business.
