This will be the official Travis Henry thread until he is suspended. Keep it rolling and let’s see how long it gets!

What are the early predictions? When does he get suspended? Who takes over?

I believe it will be within 1-2 weeks and Andre Hall will emerge as the team’s primary RB, but it won’t be until during the game. I can see it now, Shanny will start Young and fantasy owners will also start him… then in the 2nd or 3rd quarter, Hall will get hot (as he is the most talented RB in that group) and Shanny will keep him in the final two quarters. He will then start Hall for the rest of the season. There you have it! That is my prediction.

Denver Papers citing Henry could be on team until November make him probably worth trading for. The whole thing is a mess though. Hall has been getting a little exposure also from Shanny. I think Smitty called this with him. I’m really buying into it with Hall taking over later in season.

RB Travis Henry to take lie detector test?

According to DenverPost.com, an NFL source claims that Henry is scheduled to take a polygraph test sometime this week on whether or not he recently smoked marijuana. The Denver Broncos have been known to use lie detector tests in the past on players in questionable situations. Henry is also willing to provide hair samples for further testing, but some speculate that this could be a ploy to just delay things through appeals. If Henry is unhappy with the results, sources suggest that the runner would try and drag this out for another month or more with appeals, but don’t be to quick to think that this will work. Shanahan can do whatever he wants - We think that Selvin Young is clearly the guy to own at the moment, but 3rd string RB Andre Hall fits the Shanahan mold more than any back on the roster and the runner is truly the most talented running back behind Henry. Keep an eye on this situation.

That would be sweet, I’d love to see it too. I think Henry will be suspended before they play again in week 6. From what I have read, they only need to test the 2nd sample as the first has already come back positive

Personally, I don’t like any of these backs right now as I don’t trust Shanny as far as I can throw him. Since Terrell left, he’s gone through lots of backs, so I can’t see how anyone could predict what he is thinking. Add in the fact that the Broncos center is out for the year, it all spells trouble to me.

Judge clears Henry to play

A federal judge has cleared the way for embattled Broncos running back Travis Henry to play football - at least for three more weeks, according to court records made available Thursday. That timetable leaves Henry available to play at least through October. He’s been a mainstay of the Broncos’ offense, rushing for 498 yards. He faces a possible one-year suspension amid allegations he may have flunked an NFL drug test. Henry has filed a lawsuit challenging the NFL’s drug-testing program.

It was just reported that T Henry will NOT start tonight due to his rib injury.

If you’re stuck with him in your starting lineup (like me), grab Selvin Young and Andre Hall and start one of them tonight. Thankfully, I grabbed Young a couple weeks ago. Run Selvin Run.

They also said that the appeal hearing will be held next Monday by NFL. So we will probably know by week from Wed.the fate of Henry. Detroit game could be the last hurrah for Henry.

I heard a rumor he is trying to say it was second hand smoke.haha No way that flys. I think the Lions game is the last game for a year. Should be interesting.

Yea, this thread should deserves some attention for the next few weeks. Who here believes it will be Andre Hall that would take over if Henry sits? Any Sapp believers? Sapp reminds me of Droughns in a way, the kind of RB that Shanny likes to plug in. Personally, I think it will be Selvin at first, then Hall will somehow get a shot and run with it.

Henry’s appeal is set to be heard on Nov 16th. He has practiced all week, so he’ll most likely start week 9 vs. Detroit and week 10 @ KC.

From a post in another thread…

Here’s something I came across….cut & paste

Broncos coach Mike Shanahan announced Monday that Travis Henry will meet with the NFL on Friday. Shanahan says that if Henry’s test for marijuana was positive, he will not be with the team for the rest of the season.

“We’ll let due process take care of itself,” Shanahan said, “but if the test was positive, after what he promised me, he would not be on this football team.” Shanahan expects to hear from the league a week after Friday’s meeting, and believes the running back has a good chance of winning his appeal after taking multiple lie detector tests and showing negative hair samples. Henry will also undergo an MRI to determine the extent of the knee injury that kept him out in Week 10. Nov. 12 - 3:48 pm et

After the night selvin Young had, do you still think he will end up going with Hall?
What is Henry worth now as far as trade value?
Does anyone think he will be let off the hook by the nfl?
Is his knee bad enough to make him miss another game?

Wow so many questions! We all hate the annual Shanahan backfield story but this season’s is a real page turner!

No, I think Selvin is the clear starter once Henry is given the boot. Hall has been the nice Dark Horse, and I still own both Young and Hall in a fee deep leagues, but Young looks great.

According to Rotowire: Travis Henry (RB) DEN
“Henry (knee/flu) missed Friday’s practice and was ruled out for Sunday’s game against the Bears, the Broncos’ official site reports. “Travis is definitely out,” coach Mike Shanahan said Friday.”

He’s been dead weight on so many rosters for the last 4 weeks and, sadly, I’m actually hoping a suspension comes down. The longer the jury’s out though, the more likely it seems that the suspension will be dropped. I’m afraid that, in the future, I may be avoiding any Den RBs as long as Shanny’s pulling the strings.

We were one of the few Sites that didn’t have Henry in our top ten for much of the off-season. Everyone had him top 10, top 5… it was crazy. I won’t lie, we did eventually lift him into that first-round after much struggle and debate, but boy we should have stuck to our initial breakdown on that guy and on that team. The only solution is this… and it’s nuts: Grab all the RBs! The better option is to let someone burn a top pick on the #1 projected runner (let’s say next year), and you swoop in and snag all the back-ups using middle-to-late round picks… stash ‘em and cash in later. That is my advice for next year.

I have been high on Hall all season long… I can’t wait to watch him run. You may be right, dag2523… Henry getting a pass wouldn’t shock me. I think he will get suspended, though, but as I always say… anything is possible this year.

According to CBS and ESPN player news I’ve seen, Denver signed a true FB the other day and Mike Bell has now been moved to Tailback. Why do Shanny and Bellicheck hate FF players?
