i've always wondered this and could never find an explanation. in the texans expansion draft, the jets gave up RT ryan young. i understand contract issues, maybe the team wont be able to afford a players escallating salaries year by year and that every team had to put 5 or so players up for the expansion draft. but the problem i have is that ryan young was only getting about $650,000. which from my understanding, is a salary that better suites a 4th wr, or maybe a fullback or a poor saftey at best. but not a starting tackle. and i dont think there was any character issues with him, he was only 26ish at the time, and his madden rating was a 87 i think so he couldn't of been that bad in real life. this seems like a bargain, why would the jets give him up rather than a 3rd string bench warmer?
if anyone knows the real reason for this, i will be very impressed and can finally put my mind at ease
