Fantasy Football Start and Bench Advice: Week 15

Below is our Fantasy Football Start ‘Em and Sit ‘Em Advice for week 15 of the 2007 season. Also, make sure you check out our Weekly Projections for Week 15, and if that isn’t enough, swing by our Start / Bench Forum, where Tavaner, Craphonso and Smitty attack all of your questions daily.

Smitty’s RB2 Start Of The Week (Week 15)

Smitty

Ernest Graham

RB
(vs. ATL)
125/22 yards, 2TDs
Ernest Graham has been one of this year’s biggest fantasy football surprises, as the waiver wire grab has averaged over 111 total yards per game in his eight straight NFL starts. Graham has scored a touchdown in 5 straight contests, and actually had two scores last week… Well, don’t expect him to slow down yet, as the Bucs are at home against the Falcons this weekend. The Falcons rushing defense gives up 123.7 rushing yards per game (27th in the league), so Graham should have a monster outing in Week 15. He is quite possibly a top 8-10RB in these final two fantasy weeks here in 2007.

ASK THE EXPERTS

PICK 3: Larry Fitzgerald (@NO), Hines Ward (vs. JAC), Brandon Marshall (@HOU), Greg Jennings (@STL) ?

Smitty
This is a very tough one, because you will probably have to sit one of the bigger name guys from this group, as both youngsters (Jennings and Marshall) are on fire. I think Fitz could have a big day, but I really like Roethy at home in this one. I initially said Ward when this question was asked on our forum, but I’m switching that third spot to Fitz… that’s how close this is. Start Larry Fitzgerald, Brandon Marshall and Greg Jennings. I’m sorry to say, but picking three each week from this group is going to be hit or miss… It’s obviously a good problem to have, but I’m sure it’s a frustrating one.
The only decision here is between Ward and Marshall if you ask me. I go Ward, though, because Roethlisberger should have a big game, which means he will connect with Mr. Clutch over and over again. Start Greg Jennings, Hines Ward and Larry Fitzgerald.

ASK THE EXPERTS

Selvin Young (@HOU) or Travis Henry (@HOU) ?

Smitty
As strange as it is to breakdown two RBs from the same team, this is a very good question to ask. That said, I don’t think one can justify starting Henry over Young at this point, as Young just exploded for 156 yards on 17 carries in Week 14 against the Chiefs. Now, Henry did score a touchdown in Week 14, but he only gained 24 yards on 10 carries - Young is clearly the more explosive rusher of the two. As I always say, anything can happen, but with what we know now (as of Wednesday morning), everything points to Selvin getting more carries in Week 15. Start Selvin Young.
Easy call at this point, but one single news update could change all that. Start Selvin Young without question.

ASK THE EXPERTS

Jay Cutler (@HOU) or Kurt Warner (@NO) ?

Smitty
Now, our FFX projections have Warner blowing up in Week 15, but those stats are created by a combination of three staff projections. While I don’t think Warner will have 370 and 3TDs, as our projections suggest, I do believe RoboKurt will throw for 300 and about 2TDs. Cutler has a solid match-up as well in Week 15, but I think Houston is going to play better than expected at home. Plus, Denver will do a lot of running in this one. It is relatively close, but I say start Kurt Warner.
Cutler could have a good game, but HOU is good at home. I just see that AZ/NO game being a very high scoring match-up. When it comes to close calls like this one, I go with the game that will have more scoring. Start Kurt Warner.

Ballgame’s Top 20 Receivers (Week 15)

Even though we already have a projections section for the upcoming week, those projections are created via three staffers. Below are my personal Top 20 Wide Receivers for Week 15. I have also listed each player’s projections and projected fantasy point totals. Hopefully this helps some of you with your Week 15 decisions, as the more opinions and variation you get your hands on the better. Good luck this week!
